03/18/2020 | RMCCOY1 | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Provide a completed Special Inspection Form for the Grease Duct Enclosure .IBC107.2.1. |
03/27/2020 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Revise the configuration of the gas service to the water heater in detail 1/P2.0 to show the gas shutoff valve located upstream of the dirt leg. Reference: Section 408.4, IFGC 2018. 2. Coordinate the type of gas-fired water heater being installed with the architect. You are specifying an instantaneous water heater but detail 2/AD2 shows a 50-gallon storage-type water heater. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. |
03/27/2020 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Type I hood systems may not be handled as a deferred submittal; all design issues must be included in the initial construction documents. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 2. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fan so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted (i.e. all of the air supplied to each restroom is to be exhausted during the hours of operation even if the lights are off). The exhausted air from the restrooms shall be limited to no more than 10% of any subsequent supply air stream. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2018. 3. Provide heating and cooling load calculations to justify the heating/cooling capacities of the specified HVAC units. Reference: Section C403.1.1 and C403.3.1, IECC 2018. 4. Show that the proposed HVAC equipment meets the minimum performance requirements of Section C403.3.2, IECC 2018 (e.g. COMcheck Mechanical Compliance). 5. Show that the walk-in cooler and walk in freezer meet the construction and efficiency requirements of Sections 403.10.2 and C403.10.2.1, IECC 2018. 6. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.2.4, IMC 2018 (the hood hanging weight plus the weight of personnel working in or on the hood). Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2018. 7. Provide adequate make-up air to the room so that the room pressure remains essentially neutral. Note that the exhaust values for EF-C1-3 do not agree with the equipment schedule. Reference: Section 501.4, IMC 2018. 8. Clarify the type and size of the grease duct for the Type I hood, H-A1; it is 10"x10" on the mechanical floor plan but 10" diameter in keynote 3 on M1.0. 9. Verify that the walls adjacent to the Type I hood will have a smooth, cleanable, non-absorbent, and non-combustible material installed between the hood and the wall, and extending 18" beyond the hood in compliance with Section 507.2.6, IMC 2018. 10. The mechanical plan shows high velocity diffusers RTU-2 in close proximity to the face of the Type I hoods. Verify that the location and type of supply air outlets complies with the hood manufacturer's installation instructions and does not reduce the effectiveness of the exhaust system. Reference: Sections 304.1 and 508.1, IMC 2018. 11. The equipment schedule on sheet M2.0 shows a very different type of make-up air unit compared to the shop drawing H6.0. Clarify which type of make-up air unit is to be installed and verify that the evaporative cooling section of the makeup air unit is equipped with a recirculating water system. Reference: Section 928.2, IMC 2018 and ARS Title 45, Chapter 1, Article 12. See text at: (http://www.azleg.gov/viewdocument/?docName=http://www.azleg.gov/ars/45/00313.htm). |
