3. Verify that exhaust ventilation is being provided for the restroom during hours of operation so that all of the air supplied to the restroom will be exhausted (i.e. do not switch the exhaust fan with the lights). Reference: Section 403.2.1, IMC 2018.
4. Provide specifications for the proposed exhaust fans serving the Type I hood. Reference: Section 506.5, IMC 2018.
5. Provide specifications for the proposed Type I hood. If the hood is no longer listed, provide exhaust flow rate calculations based on Section 507.5.2, IMC 2018. Reference: Section 507.1, IMC 2018.
6. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.2.4, IMC 2018 (the hood hanging weight plus the weight of personnel working in or on the hood). Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2018.
7. Show that the hood installation complies with Section 507.2.6, IMC 2018 with regard to a smooth, cleanable, non-absorbent, and non-combustible material installed between the hood and the wall, and extending 18" beyond the hood.
8. Hood canopies shall extend at least 6" horizontally on all open sides beyond the edge of the top horizontal surface of the appliances under the hood. Reference: Section 507.4.1, IMC 2018.
9. Provide adequate make-up air for the kitchen exhaust hood and provide specifications for the make-up air equipment and ductwork. Reference: Section 508.1 IMC 2018.
10. The mechanical plan shows high velocity diffusers for the make-up air system in close proximity to the face of the Type I hoods. Verify that the location and type of make-up air outlets complies with the hood manufacturer's installation instructions and does not reduce the effectiveness of the exhaust system. Reference: Sections 304.1 and 508.1, IMC 2018.
11. Clarify the new air distribution system. Is one rooftop unit providing the supply air? How is the air returning to the HVAC unit(s)? Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.
12. Show that the walk-in cooler meets the efficiency requirements of Section C403.10.2.1, IECC 2018.
01/14/2020 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Revise the gas pipe sizes for the gas piping sections between appliances 202 and 007 based on the demand and developed pipe length for each appliance. Reference: Sections 402.1 and 402.3, IFGC 2018.
2. Provide an automatic fuel shutoff valve interlocked with the hood fire suppression system. Reference: Section 904.3.3, IFC 2018.
3. Provide a detail of the water heater installation, including the excess pressure relief, expansion tank, vacuum relief or other anti-siphon device, and valves. Reference: Sections 503.1, 504, 606.1 607.2, and 607.3, IPC 2018.
4. All water outlets or direct-connection of water to an appliance shall be protected against backflow. Specify the device to be used for each outlet or appliance connection. Reference: Sections 608.3 and 608.16, IPC 2018.
5. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of P-6, the 3-compartment sink, to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.1, IPC 2018.
