SUBJECT: Offsite Improvements Plan for The Union on 6th PROJECT REVIEWER: Richard Leigh, TDOT, TDOT

RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: TDOT Permit Review Section has reviewed the subject PIA paving plan and does
not recommend approval at this time. The following comments need to be addressed and plans revised
prior to resubmittal. Please include a response letter addressing the following comments and
return redlined drawings with subsequent submittal.
1. Add the plan number “U-2019-012” in the title block of each sheet.

2. Add PIA activity number “T19PI00025” on cover sheet.
3. Sheet 1: Revise Paving + Grading Note #3 to indicate the use of City of Tucson Mix #2.

4. Sheet 2: Provide curb returns with a minimum of 12’ radii at Herbert Avenue an 6th Street
pursuant to COT TSN 10-01.3.2.D.

5. Sheet 2 through 5: Provide all information and details of all landscaping, site amenities and
hardscape proposed within the public rights-of-way. This document should stand alone and not refer
to other documents for details.

6. Sheet 3: The sidewalk on the west side of parcel 117-05-0360 will need to be replace to provide
a ADA compliant pathway. The proposed curb access ramps adjacent to the existing sidewalk will have
to built out of compliance to match the existing slope, which would not be acceptable.
7. Sheet 3: Revise drawing to indicate placement of curb along the parking bays.

8. Sheet 3: Revise Cross Section 1 (5th Avenue) to provide horizontal dimensions.
9. Sheet 3: Provide a detail of the channel proposed in the parking island near the south garage
entrance, indicate outlet invert. The open channel poses a potential hazard to pedestrians; the
channel will need to be covered.

10. Sheet 3: Revise drawing to show the parking area, along 5th Ave, will be uniformly graded to
the west into proposed flowline shown on 5th Avenue cross section.

11. Sheet 5: Provide a detail of the SW corner of 4TH Avenue and 6th Street. Provide spot grades to
assist in layout of curb access ramps.

12. Sheet 5: Revise Cross Section 1 (4th Avenue) to provide horizontal dimensions. Show proposed
railing.

13. Sheet 5: An easement may be required for proposed steps in the public rights-of-way. Please
inquire
with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation Real Estate division for details.
