RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: DOT Review Section has reviewed the PIA Plan for Traffic Engineering. The proposed plan requires the following change:

1. Change right lane plaque to the top of ONLY sign.

2. Eliminate striping for crosswalks Along Wilmot Road. Eliminate hatch lines for northern driveway.

3. It is not clear if there is a sufficient center turn lane, and taper length. Please show on plan, including existing and any new striping.

4. Show striping quantities.

The final longitudinal striping shall be 90 mil (0.090") thick extruded or ribbon thermoplastic reflectorized striping placed over the painted layout striping within 21 to 30 calendar days of the final pavement surface being completed. All previously exempted longline markings shall be applied during the final longitudinal striping.

#7. All final transverse striping shall be 90 mil (0.090") extruded thermoplastic. All final symbols and legends shall be type 1 preformed plastic pavement markings.

1. It is the owner’s responsibility to keep the Sight Visibility Triangles (SVT), and the pedestrian access area clear of vegetation at all times, per Unified Development Code (UDC) section.
2. It is the owner responsibility to keep a 5’ wide by 7’ tall clear pedestrian access open across the entire property.
3. It is the owner responsible to keep vegetation from growing past the curb line clear, and keep a 15’ high clear zone over the travel lane.
4. Final plant locations must be in compliance with all utility setback requirements.
5. The owner understands that if the City of Tucson Transportation Department or any utility company needs to work within the ROW in the landscaped
area, plants and irrigation may be destroyed without replacement or repair.
6. The owner takes full liability for this landscape and irrigation, and any damage to roadway, sidewalk and utilities.
7. The only private irrigation equipment that is allowed within the ROW are lateral lines, tubing and emitters that are not under constant pressure. All other equipment must be on private property. (excluding water meter)
8. Contractor to obtain a Right Of Way permit prior to construction within the right-of-way.




2. Any tree planted, so that the drip edge of the tree at mature size is over the public sidewalk, is required to have 2' deep root barrier at the sidewalk for the length of the tree drip edge plus 2' beyond each side.

RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: TDOT Permit Review Section has reviewed the subject PIA paving plan and does not recommend approval at this time. The following comments need to be addressed and plans revised prior to resubmittal. Please include a response letter addressing the following comments and return redlined drawings with subsequent submittal.
1. Add the plan number “I-2019-027” in the title block of each sheet.
2. Add PIA activity number “T19PI0014” on cover sheet.
3. Sheet 1: Revise General Construction Note #4 to indicate the use of COT Mix #2.
4. Sheet 2: Revise drawing to indicate the placement of a minimum 2 feet wide pavement section at the beginning of the proposed pavement tapers.
5. Sheet 2: Revise drawing to locate the northern curb access ramp, on the south driveway, to be closer inline with the ramp across from it.
6. Sheet 2: Revise drawing to indicate that the cross slope in the pedestrian crosswalk areas within the driveways will not exceed 2%.
7. Sheet 2: Provide details of rip-rap pads and indicate placement of filter fabric. Indicate type of filter fabric, filter fabric shall be Mirafi 140N or an equivalent type.
8. Sheet 2: Indicate the geotechnical recommendations for the subgrade preparation in the pavement areas.
9. Please Refer to redline drawings for additional comments and comment details.
