03/28/2019 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. The International Plumbing Code, 2018, is the controlling code for this activity, not the 2012 International Plumbing Code. Reference: Section 101.2, IPC 2018.
2. Provide automatic faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the automatic faucets will operate for a minimum time of 10-seconds. Reference: Section 419.6, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09.
3. The specification for the BFP calls for a Watts 719QT-S double check valve assembly with a Watts 909AG air gap fitting. The double check valve assembly is listed for non-health hazard applications and it cannot accommodate an air gap fitting. Verify the type of backflow preventer required for this application. Reference: Section 608.1, IPC 2018.
4. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.1, IPC 2018.
5. Floor sinks in the kitchen area or subject to grease waste (e.g. the floor sink near the drop-in cold wells) shall discharge through a grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPV 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson.
6. The specified hydromechanical grease interceptor (Schier GB2) requires the installation of a valve or a flow restriction device on the indirect waste piping when sinks discharge into a floor sink prior to the interceptor. Show how the waste flow into the floor sink will be regulated to prevent an overflow on the kitchen floor. Reference: Sections 303.2 and 1003.3.4.2, IPC 2018.
7. Provide a vent downstream of the specified hydromechanical grease interceptor to protect the seal interceptor. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2018.
