Please size the grease interceptor in accordance with the City of Tucson amendment to Section 1003.3 of the 2018 IPC. Provide calculations and a plumbing fixture table showing connected DFU’s.
In the Plumbing Fixtures Schedule, sheet P4.0, please note that restroom lavatory E23-SS shall have an automatic faucet that delivers no more than 0.25 gallon per metering cycle. Ref. City of Tucson amendment to the 2018 IPC new section 419.6.

Provide note on plan and put unshielded outdoor lighting on timer to shut off at 11:00 P.M per 2012 City of Tucson/Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code 403.1.
The photometry plan, the lighting fixture schedule, and the outdoor lighting calculations all show differing amounts of light fixtures. They must all be coordinated to match each other. Note: any full cutoff fixture located under canopies shall be shown in the calculations but can be counted as 0 lumens.
Delete structural information from the light pole foundation detail 3/E1.3 and put a note to “see structural drawings for light pole foundation detail.”
Light fixture “Z” on sheet E1.0 does not appear in the light fixture schedule.
Please submit manufacturer’s product data for all outdoor light fixtures.

Please provide two sets of structural calculations and soils report in next submittal.
The Certificate of Special Inspection submitted includes only welding and masonry whereas the structural schedule indicates that site preparation and concrete also require special inspection.
Shear walls are shown on the architectural framing plan, sheet A1.20. Not all shear walls are shown nor are shear wall types consistent with shear walls shown on the structural foundation plan, sheet S101. Either revise sheet A1.20 to match sheet S101 or delete shear walls from sheet A1.20. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
The RCP Materials Legend on sheet A1.30 and the Interior Finishes Schedule on sheet A3.10b indicate that Louisiana cypress wood planks, Douglas fir paneling, and white oak will be used as ceiling and wall finish materials. Please submit test results of the proposed wood finishes tested in accordance with ASTM E84 or UL 723 showing that they fall within a Class C flame spread index or 76-200 and a smoke developed index of 0-450. Ref. 2018 IBC 803.1.2 and Table 803.13.
On wall sections, sheets A7.10, .20 and .30 the structural drawings are referred to in regards to masonry veneer steel lintels. However, except for the standard veneer attachment detail on sheet S021 there appears to be no information in the structural drawings regarding masonry veneer. There are structural calculations for the steel lintels; however please provide a steel lintel schedule in the drawings and detail(s) for installation of the veneer lintels. Are the lintels “loose” and if so, what is the minimum bearing. In some cases it appears that the lintels might be secured to HSS lintels (see wall sections 3/A7.50 and 3/A8.10, for example). If so, how are they secured? Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
In the structural calculations the masonry veneer angle lintels are shown with a 3 ½”to 4” horizontal leg. Base on the architectural details the lintels must extend the depth of the brick veneer and then span the depth of the air space between brick and sheathing to provide closure at window and door opening heads. A 3 ½” to 4” deep lintel will not suffice. Coordinate with Architect. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
The maximum span for steel angle masonry veneer lintels in the structural calculations is 10’-0”, however the sectional window opening on the east wall is 14’-1 3/4” wide. Please provide structural calculations and detail for this steel lintel. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
In Specification Section 07 22 00 Rigid Roof & Deck Insulation, sheet A9.40, R-24 continuous insulation is specified, however the building envelope COMcheck on sheet A10.4 requires R-30 continuous insulation. Please revise the specification or COMcheck so that they are consistent.
On sheet A9.50 please add the U-factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient for the selected operable windows in Section 08 36 00 Operable Sectional Windows to match the building envelope COMcheck. Verify that the selected operable windows will provide the values indicated in the COMcheck and revise the COMcheck if necessary so that specification and COMcheck match. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
On sheet A9.50 please add the U-factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient for the selected storefronts and glazed entry doors in Section 08 41 13 Aluminum Framed Entrances & Storefront to match the building envelope COMcheck. Verify that the selected storefront and entry system will provide the values indicated in the COMcheck and revise the COMcheck if necessary so that specification and COMcheck match. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
On sheet A9.50 please add the U-factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient for the selected operable drive thru windows in Section 08 56 19 Drive Thru Windows to match the building envelope COMcheck. Verify that the selected operable windows will provide the values indicated in the COMcheck and revise the COMcheck if necessary so that specification and COMcheck match. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
Please explain why “Appendix B” Tables and the “Non-Residential Fenestration Calculation Report” are included on sheet A10.4. The U-factor and SHGC information hi-lighted in these tables and report do not match what is shown in the building envelope COMcheck on this same sheet. The COMcheck should include the U-factors and SHCG for the selected assemblies per the specifications. While these values are not yet shown in the specifications (see building review comments 4-6 above) the manufacturers should provide this information to the designer. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
The text on sheet FS2.10 is smaller than 3/32”. Per City of Tucson standard all text, both upper and lower case, shall be a minimum 3/32” high.
Please add base plate information for typical columns HSS 6x4 in the Column Schedule, sheet S062. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
On the Foundation Plan, sheet S101, shouldn’t the canopy footings be labeled CF3.5 instead of CF3.6? CF3.6 does not appear in the Foundation Schedule, sheet S062. Please coordinate. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
Similarly the foundation plan indicates footing WF1.5 at the east and west walls; however the Foundation Schedule shows only WF1.6 footing. Please coordinate. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
Detail marker 316/S602 shown on the framing plan at the patio canopy is oriented north-south when it should be oriented east-west cutting through the exterior wall. This structural detail location corresponds to architectural wall section 3/A7.50 that shows a wide clearance between TS canopy joists and HSS wall opening lintel for the brick veneer that the structural detail does not show. Constructed per the architectural detail, the steel canopy deck would seem to terminate at face of veneer and not at the steel wall lintel. Is this structurally appropriate as the brick veneer will need to be somehow fitted around the canopy girders that connect to the TS columns in the exterior wall? Structural engineer to coordinate with Architect. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
The shear wall calculations have many more shear wall types than are shown on the Foundation Plan, sheet S101. Please include in the structural calculations a shear wall key plan showing all the shear wall types in the calculations that can be used to compare with the final Foundation Plan in the drawing set. Shear walls and shear wall foundations will be reviewed on receipt. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
Please check cantilevered masonry retaining walls 1 and 7/S041 against the structural calculations. It does not appear that all the information regarding rebar size, foundation width, etc. is included in the details and matches what is required by the structural calculations. Ref. 2018 IBC 107.2.1.
Please provide information regarding how air sealing around the perimeter of the operable window wall will be accomplished when in closed position.
