04/06/2018 | CSALTZM1 | DOT ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | 1) Add PIA No. T18PI00006 to cover sheet - top center. 2) Add plan No. U-2018-003 to all sheets. 3) Sht. 1 of 4: Remove all reference to Pima County/City of Tucson Standard Specification and Details for Public Improvements 2003 and replace with PAG Tucson Standard Specification and Details for Public Improvements 2015 Edition. 4) FYI next PIA Plan Set - Remove: General and Paving Notes, General Sewer Notes from cover sheet and put them on the second sheet of the plan set. 5) FYI next PIA Plan Set -Reference Plan main functions are as follows: A) Sheet number reference. B) Sub-contractors when asked to bid on the job by the Prime at a glance can determine if there is work on the project they are qualified to do. C) After the project is complete - anyone doing research in the area of the project can determine at a glance the project addressed items of interest to their investigating (example: storm sewer). 6) Remove concrete valley gutter. The City has found longitudinal valley gutters in the R/W to be a maintenance issue. 7) Increase the sidewalk width along Speedway Blvd. from 5 Ft. to 6 Ft. 8) Need more information (elevation, cross section and detail of driveway) to determine the sidewalk/driveway meet ADA requirements. 9) Note No. 7 of the demolition notes states "Existing depressed curb to be removed". Along the new curb at the driveway need to show 2 Ft. wide remove and replace, saw cut, trim tack and join asphalt along Speedway Blvd. to form new curb (Standard Practice). FYI Speedway Blvd. is under" No Cut moratorium" the contractor shall be required to Mill and Overlay the lanes affected 50 Ft. East and west of the work area. 10) Square up the dumpster concrete pad and increase the thickness from 7 inches to 9 inches. |
04/09/2018 | LPETERS2 | DOT PERMITS & CODES | REVIEW | Denied | I have reviewed this plan and have the following comments: 1. Is there city owned irrigation lines along Speedway? If so, our median island section will want their lines sleeved under the new driveway. 2. Is appears that the driveway off of speeway is at the maximum allowable slope for a driveway coming off of an arterial. Please provide some elevations and outs for this driveway to help with the construction. 3. It appear that the alley has good drainage. Why did you provide a valley gutter down the alley? No further comments. Lance Peterson, P.E. Engineering Manager |
