Sheet I-506; Detail 5 (Hot Water Tank): Please provide the wood blocking connection to the wall studs (blocking size, connection size, and connection quantity), the strapping size, and the connection of the strapping to the wood blocking (or reference this information to specifications, notes, etc.). 5. Provide a direct connection to the building drainage system for all plumbing fixtures except as allowed by Chapter 8, IPC 2012 (i.e. provide a direct waste connection for the bar and hand sinks). Reference: Section 301.3, IPC 2012. 2. Provide a automatic faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the automatic faucets will operate for at least 10-seconds for accessibility. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09. 3. Provide tempered water for the lavatories in the restrooms using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012. 4. The direct-connection of water to an appliance and subject to backpressure (e.g. a misting system) shall be protected against backflow with a reduced pressure principle backflow prevention assembly. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.16.6, IPC 2012. 5. The specified backflow prevention device, Wilkins model 700, is not listed for ASSE 1022 as required for coffee machines or non-carbonated beverage dispensers. Reference: Section 608.16.10, IPC 2012. 6. Coordinate the size of the building drain for grease waste. The approved building shell has a 3" grease waste drain entering the grease interceptor. Reference: Section 706.2, IPC 2012. 7. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012. 8. The hand sink in the workroom is allowed to connect to the sanitary waste system instead of the grease waste system only if the sink has a sign posted above it stating, "HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATION OR DISHWASHING ALLOWED." Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 9. Keynote 14 on sheet P-1102 calls for connecting the grease waste to an existing 1500-gallon gravity grease interceptor. The approved plans (not yet issued) for the building shell called for the installation of a 50-GPM, 100-pound grease interceptor. Verify the required capacity for the planned food service operations. COMMENT: Zoning has reviewed the building plans for compliance with the approved version of the development package. While the building footprint is consistent with the DP as it relates to the zoning review purview (Building footprint, Height, square footage, site conditions etc) zoning cannot approve the building plans until the building plans have been approved by the PDSD Commercial Plans reviewers. 2. COMMENT: Zoning will review the building plans on the next submittal as it relates to the zoning review purview and compare the building plan footprint, building height, and square footage and location to ensure consistency with the DP. 3. COMMENT: If any changes are necessary, due to the PDSD Commercial Plan Reviewer's comments that affect or change the building footprint, height, or square footage, the DP will need to be updated prior to approval of the building plans by Zoning. 4. COMMENT: Label on the exterior building elevation drawings the heights of the parapet walls. 5. COMMENT: Once the plans have been reviewed and approved by the PDSD Commercial Plan Reviewers and zoning has verified consistency with the DP, the building plans can be approved by zoning.
