10/02/2018 | DAVID RIVERA | ZONING | REVIEW | Reqs Change | FROM: David Rivera PDSD Zoning Review Section PROJECT: T18CM06729 - DTU-1 Carnival Warehouse Tent Building plans (1st Review) 3881 N. Highway Drive TRANSMITTAL DATE: October 2, 2018 DUE DATE: October 5, 2018 COMMENTS: Please resubmit revised drawings and any redlined plans along with a detailed response letter, which states how all Zoning Review Section comments were addressed. 1. COMMENT: Zoning has reviewed the building plans but cannot approve them at this time. At this time it is my understanding (per consultation with department staff) that the original process for a Development package will not be required. It is also my understanding that a Temporary Use Permit will be the process to approve the temporary use on this specific site. 2. COMMENT: In addition, the building plans must be approved by 2nd Party and PDSD commercial plans reviewers before zoning can approve the plans. 3. COMMENT: Once the plans have been approved by all Commercial Plans reviewers and no site changes are made that affect zoning requirements, zoning will stamp and sign the building plans as it pertains to the zoning review purview. 4. COMMENT: If the approval of the TUP includes conditions of approval those conditions may have to be included in the building package documents. If you have any questions about this transmittal, Contact David Rivera on Tuesday or Wednesday at (520) 837-4957 or by email at David.Rivera@tucsonaz.gov or contact Steve Shields, (520) 837-4956 or Steve.Shields@tucsonaz.gov |

10/08/2018 | PIMA COUNTY | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Sheet A-2.01; Membrane Structure Plan: The plan indicates the central conveyor, but provides no specifications, structural calculations, details, or layouts for that conveyor. Please provide that information on full size sheets sealed, signed, and dated by a licensed professional registered in the State of Arizona. The following six comments were posted on 10-8-18. At this time, those comments may be suspended without responses due to a change in permit requirements. This review is for the conveyor system only. 1. Sheet G1.01; Project Data: The accessory modular trailers 1 and 2 indicate a business (B) occupancy classification per the IBC Section 303.1.2(2). Is this correct since trailer 1 is 1440 SF? Please verify. 2. Sheet G1.01; Project Data: The occupant load indicated in the modular trailers section is 40 total. Please indicate on the drawings how that number was derived. The IBC Table 1004.1.2 indicates the occupant load is based on the function of the space, not the occupancy classification. This would require the modular trailers occupant load to be based on the function (assembly) rather than the classification (business). Please indicate how the 40 occupant load was determined. Is that load for the two tent structures and the three trailers? 3. Sheet G1.01; Code Review: Please add the 2009 ICC/ANSI A117.1 accessibility code to this list. 4. Sheet A-101; Table 1: The table showing the maximum travel distance in the IBC is 1016.2, which allows 200 feet. The 100 feet indicated on the drawing is for the common path of egress travel (Table 1014.3). Please revise. 5. General: Please provide structural calculations for the tent design and its foundation/hold-downs. The calculations must be stamped by a design professional registered in the state of Arizona. 6. General: Please provide written responses to all review comments. |
