08/31/2018 ERIC NEWCOMB BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Sheet C-01; Construction Codes: Please remove the 2010 ADA Standards, and replace that with the 2009 ICC/ANSI A117.1 accessibility code.
2. Sheet C-01; Code Compliance: The occupancy group indicates "M". Per previous comments, please revise this to a "B" occupancy group.
3. Sheet C-01 (Code Compliance); Sheet A-01 (Floor Plan): Per the IBC Table 2902.1, a high/low drinking fountain is required. The City of Tucson allows a single point-of-use water dispenser (handicap accessible) to be substituted (directlly connects to a water line, but no drain required). Indicate this on the floor plan. If there is a high/low drinking fountain located in the existing public restroom area, please add a note on Sheet C-01. In addition, indicate the required high/low drinking fountain in the "Plumbing Fixtures" on Sheet C-01.
4. Sheet A-01; Floor Plan Notes: Please revise notes 8 and 9 by removing the ADA and ADAAS (ADAAG) references and adding the ICC/ANSI A117.1 accessibility standards.
5. Sheet A-01; Occupant Load: Please revise the occupancy classification to Group "B".
6. Sheet A-01; Occupant Load: Per the IBC Table 1004.1.2, a "B" occupancy uses a load factor of 100 for the gross area. Revise the occupant load to 1720/100 = 18 occupants.
7. Sheet A-01; Wall Types: Per the IBC Section 1607.14, interior walls greater than 6' in height are required to have adequate strength to resist a horizontal load of 5 psf. Wall Type 2 will require diagonal bracing that connects to the top of the wall and to the structure above. Please indicate the bracing size and spacing along with the quantity and size of connectors at the top of the partition and at the structure above. Provide structural calculations for Wall Type 1, indicating the studs and connection to the floor slab meet the lateral resistance requirements.
8. General: Please provide written responses to all review comments.
08/31/2018 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Ventilation is required and must be provided whenever the space is occupied. Reference: Sections 401.2 and 401.3, IMC 20012.
2. The amount of outside air supplied to a space shall be approximately equal to the amount of air exhausted from the space. A nail salon requires a minimum exhaust flow rate of 0.6 CFM per square foot of net occupiable space. The minimum amount of outside air to be supplied to the space is based on 25 people per square foot, 20 CFM per person, and 0.12 CFM per square foot. At 1720 square feet, this would be 1066 CFM of supply and 1032 CFM of exhaust. Reference: Section 403.3, IMC 2012.
3. Revise the size and material of the proposed clothes dryer duct per Section 504.6.1, IMC 2012.
4. Revise the specified termination of the clothes dryer vent per Section 504.4, IMC 2012 and per the manufacturer's instructions. Reference: Section 504.6.2, IMC 2012.

2. Verify that the fixture drain for the automatic clothes washer complies with the requirements of Section 406.2, IPC 2012.
3. Provide a detail showing how a flow-reduction valve (Section 424.7, IPC 2012) called out in item #7 of the plumbing plan notes will be employed. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
4. The developed length of the hot water supply piping appears to be greater than fifty feet; provide a method for maintaining the temperature of the hot water supply system. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2012.
5. A check valve is not listed as a backflow preventer. Provide a backflow preventer listed for the application. Reference: Section 608.1, IPC 2012.
6. Provide indirect waste receptors with traps to serve the pedicure chairs. Reference: Section 1002.1, IPC 2012.
