09/20/2018 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: Provide a site drawing showing the size and route of the building water supply along with the location and size of both the water meter and the reduced pressure backflow preventer assembly. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.]
2. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: Provide a site drawing showing the location of the proposed gravity grease interceptor, the size, route, and slope of the building sewer, the location of all cleanouts in the building sewer, and the location of the connection of the building sewer to the public sewer. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.]
3. Comment not addressed. The installation instructions for the specified fryers "[r]equire 7" (178mm) water column (W.C.) to the fryer's combination gas control valve for proper operation, when all gas units are operating simultaneously." [Initial comment: Southwest Gas, the local gas utility, provides natural gas at 7" WG, 2 PSIG, and 5 PSIG. Appliances needing gas service at 7" WG or greater (e.g. the fryer system) will require a gas meter that delivers at least 2 PSIG gas into a regulator located after the meter set. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2012.]
4. New comment: the operating instructions for the specified fryers call for the units to be "boiled out" every seven days with a cleaning solution (hot water plus cleaning chemicals) to be drained to a floor sink followed by rinsing the fryer vats with hot water. How will the discharge from this process be kept at a temperature less than 140 degrees Fahrenheit? Reference: Section 701.7, IPC 2012.
09/20/2018 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Submit a revised energy code analysis. [Initial comment: Revise the energy code analysis for the building envelope, coordinating the building components used in the analysis with those shown on the drawing (e.g. roof insulation: R20 or R16?). Reference: Section C303.1, IECC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.]
2. There are no deferred structural calculations for this activity; provide structural calculations and details to show how the Type I hood is supported from the building structure. [Initial comment: Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2012 (the hood hanging weight plus the weight of personnel working in or on the hood). Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012.]
09/25/2018 DAN SANTA CRUZ ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change Please address the following electrical plan review comments. Also provide a written response.
#1. As per the previous review comment #1 and response.
(a)The building structure design cannot qualify the luminaires installed under a canopy or roof overhang as a full cut-off luminaire. ("E" Fixtures). The luminaire must be classified as such by design and installed to achieve that effect. Sec.401.2.1(4), OLC.
(b) Per keyed lighting note #6, shows a J-Box with a WP next to it. Does this mean the J-Box is Weather Proof, or is this for the 'WP' luminaire. If it is for the luminaire, is it mounted inside or outside the building? If its not for 'WP' luminaire, Please show or locate it on the plans. Please clarify.
(c) How is the 'DI' luminaire classified as full cut-off if its projecting light upwards? See definitions for full cut-off, OLC. Please clarify.
(d) Provide a special inspection note per section 104.2.2.
Ref; 2012 IBC sec 107.2.1, 2011 NEC. Tucson/Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC).
