03/26/2018 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Clarify the remark for the sink in the fixture unit schedule; how is the sink related to a water closet? 2. The design of the water heater piping (see detail 7/P501), with a valve located between the water heater and the expansion tank, makes it impossible for the expansion tank to accommodate the thermal expansion of the water in the water heater, as intended by Section 607.3, IPC 2012. 3. Revise the configuration of the natural gas sediment trap, as shown in detail 7/P501, to comply with the requirements of Section 408.4, IFGC 2012 (i.e. the sediment trap is to be located downstream of the appliance shutoff valve, as close to the appliance as possible). 4. Provide a site drawing showing the size, route, and slope of the building sewer and the location of its connection to the public sewer. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 5. Specify the carriers for the wall-hung water closets and lavatories. Reference: Section 6. Thermostatic mixing valves are not optional for lavatories in public restrooms. Provide tempered water for the lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012. 7. Provide details showing the construction of the shower floors in accordance with the requirements of 417.5.2, IPC 2012. 8. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the flush valves will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper, PEX, or CPVC piping). At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 1" Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 9.7 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2012. 9. Provide the rim elevation of the next upstream sanitary manhole (manholes?) and the first floor elevation. Determine the need for a backwater valve per Section 715.1, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 10. A plumbing vent may not be used for any purpose other than venting of the plumbing system (See keynote 3, P412). Reference: Section 091.4, IPC 2012. 11. Provide automatic or manual controls for the circulating hot water system per Section C404.6, IECC 2012. |

Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 2. Provide the sequence of operation for exhaust fans EF-1 and EF-2. How are the potentiometers to be employed? Reference: Section 403.3, IMC 2012. |

Correct the sum of the water fixture units and recalculate the water demand. |
