06/04/2018 ERIC NEWCOMB BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Sheet C1; Code Analysis Data: Please revise the accessibility code to the 2009 edition of the ANSI A117.1.
2. Sheet C1; Code Analysis: The occupant load indicated to "see floor plan occupant load and exiting". The plan A1 indicates occupant loads, but no exiting. Please provide.
3. Sheet A1; Floor Plan: In the dining area, the total number of seats is listed as 69. The required accessible seating indicates 69 x .05 = 3.45. This requires 4 accessible dining surfaces (not 3 as indicated). The IBC Section 1108.2.9.1 also indicates the accessible dining surfaces must be distributed throughout the facility. Please revise the plan and indicate the accessible tables/counters are a maximum of 34" above finish floor.
4. Sheet A1; Floor Plan: Please indicate on this sheet the total number of occupants for the tenant space.
5. Sheet A3 (Screen Wall Detail 4); Structural Calculations (Sheet 4): The calculations indicate 2-3/4" diameter anchors at each tube base, while Detail 4 indicates (2) 1/2" diameter wedge bolts. Please coordinate.
6. Sheet M3; Hood Section B-B: Please remove the two reinforcing bars in the top of the footing (see Section 1).
7. Sheet M3; Hood Section A-A: The hood hanger indicates to "see detail this sheet". Please revise the reference to Sheet M2.
8. General: The licensed professional that stamped the C1, A1, A2, and A3 sheets has an inactive license. This is not allowed under State Statutes. The license number is 6908 under Fred R. Pace. Please verify.
9. General: Please provide written responses to all review comments.
06/11/2018 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Provide plans sealed by an Arizona Registrant whose registration is active. Reference: Arizona Revised Statutes 32-125, Board of Technical Registration Rules R4-30-304.
2. Appliances (e.g. tea brewers, coffee makers, and espresso machines, ice makers, etc.) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC 2012 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. At a minimum, beverage dispensers require the use of a backflow preventer listed to ASSE 1022. Reference: Sections 608.1, 608.3, and 608.16.10, IPC 2012.
3. The 2" floor sink receiving the discharge from the dishwasher, soiled dish-table drain, 3-compartment sink and the 2-compartment prep sink appears incapable of accepting the maximum discharge without splashing or flooding. Reference: Sections 709.4 and 802.3.1, IPC 2012.
4. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each food-handling fixture (including each compartment of the 3-compartment sink and the 2-compartment sink) to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Section 801.2, IPC 2012.
5. Indirect waste piping that has a developed length greater than 30-inches (30") when measured horizontally or greater than 54-inches (54") in total developed length shall be trapped. Exception: indirect waste piping conveying only clear-water waste (e.g. effluent from a sanitizing compartment) does not require a trap. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2012.
6. Verify the location of the proposed indirect waste receptors are visible for inspection and have ready access for cleaning. Reference: Section 802.3, IPC 2012.
7. Clarify the purpose of installing a flow control device with a gravity grease interceptor. Reference: Sections 303.2 and 706.2, IPC 2012.
8. Provide a vent downstream of the gravity grease separator to protect the seal for the grease separator. Reference: Section 1003.9, IPC 2012.
06/12/2018 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. The 2012 International Mechanical Code with Local Amendments is the relevant code the kitchen exhaust systems for this project, not NFPA 96.
2. Changes to the mechanical design proposed by the contractor per the HVAC Notes shall be reviewed by the mechanical engineer and then submitted to the City of Tucson as sealed revisions. Reference: Section 107.1, IBC 2012.
3. The occupant load used to calculate the required ventilation is not necessarily the same as the occupant load used for calculating exiting requirements. The occupant load used for calculating the minimum required ventilation is to be based on Table 403.3, IMC 2012 or an approved engineering analysis of the specific occupancy type. Reference: Section 403.3, IMC 2012.
4. Provide specifications for the Type I hood (e.g. dimensions, materials of construction, listing, etc.) along with its balancing requirements. Shop drawings are not a substitute for drawings sealed by an Arizona registrant. Reference: Section 107.1, IBC 2012.
5. Revise the structural calculations for the installation of the hood to include the weight of personnel working in or on the hood). Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012.
