Reference: Section C404.5, IECC 2012. 4. Provide a schedule for the water and drain connection requirements of the proposed appliances. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 5. Appliances (e.g. soda dispensers, ice makers, etc.) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC 2012 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. At a minimum, beverage dispensers require the use of a backflow preventer listed to ASSE 1022. Reference: Sections 608.1, 608.3, and 608.16.10, IPC 2012. 6. Verify that any proposed backflow preventers with atmospheric vents are accessible for inspection, maintenance and that water leakage will not cause damage. Reference: Section 608.14, IPC 2012. 7. Provide for sterilization and testing of the domestic water system per Section 610, IPC 2012. 8. Verify the materials proposed for waste and vent piping are acceptable to the property owner. Reference: Section 702, IPC 2012. 9. Finish drawing the waste and vent isometrics, showing how the new drainage piping will connect to the existing drainage piping. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 10. Provide cleanouts for all horizontal drains; the cleanouts shall be sized per Section 708.7, IPC 2012 and shall open to allow cleaning in the direction of flow. Reference: Sections 708.3.1 and 708.5, IPC 2012. 11. Indirect waste receptors (e.g. hub drains) shall not be installed in a closet or cupboard, or unventilated space. Ready access shall be provided to all indirect waste receptors. Reference: Section 802.3, IPC 2012 12. Clarify how the drainage system is to be vented in accordance with at least one of the methods shown in Chapter 9, IPC 2012. 13. Provide a detail of the proposed loop venting. Note that loop venting (i.e. island fixture venting) is not allowed for fixtures other than sinks or lavatories. Reference: Section 916, IPC 2012. 14. Provide data showing that the proposed running traps (also known as building traps) are self-scouring and installed in accordance with the requirements of the 2012 IPC. Reference: Sections 1002.1, 1002.2, 1002.4, and 1002.6, IPC 2012. 15. Provide additional details regarding the CO2 system.
