SUBJECT: Mountain Vail Reserve, I-2017-001 - T17PI00008

PROJECT REVIEWER: Richard Leigh, TDOT Engineering Review

RESUBMITTAL REQUIRED: TDOT Permit Review Section has reviewed the subject PIA paving plan and does not recommend approval at this time. The following comments need to be addressed and plans revised prior to final approval. Please include a response letter addressing the following comments and return any redlined drawings with subsequent submittal.

1. Sheet 1: Include the plan number "I-2017-001" in the title block of each sheet.

2. Sheet 1: Include the PIA activity number "T17PI00008" on cover sheet.

3. The City of Tucson has adopted the Pima Associates of Government (PAG) 2015 Standard Specification for Public Improvements (SSPI) and Standard Details (SD). Please revise plan set to reflect this change.

4. The street flows on Trapper Ridge Dr. north of Miller Flats Dr. exceed the recommended maximum street flows of 50 cfs per TSM 10-01.4.4.B. An alternative needs to be investigated to avoid a placing a double row traverse grate structure across Trapper Ridge Dr. A structure of this size is not appropriate for a residential roadway. It has been the City's experience that double row grate structures become loose and become a maintenance problem.

5. Sheet 1: Provide PCRWRD signature prior to submitting mylars for final signatures.

6. Sheet 2: Detail 1: Revise detail to show the EF-1 grates orientated with the bearing bars parallel with vehicle traffic. If this double row traverse grate structure is permitted a shop drawing along with a structural analysis will be required.

7. Sheet 3 Detail 2: Provide details of the proposed Rip-Rap slope and depict and label right-of-way limits.

8. Sheet 3 Detail 6: Per Tucson City Code Chapter 25, Section 25-38 the minimum distance from the end of the curb return to the start of the driveway is 4' or 20' from the curb line or cross street of the street intersection, whichever is more restrictive, revise detail accordingly.

8. Sheet 4 Detail 11: Revise Detail to reference PAG SD 201, Type1 sheet 1 of 10.

9. Sheet 5: Proposed Basin access driveway located at Sta. 6+56.16, LT (E. Rabbit Run Way) must be a min of fifteen feet wide per T.S.M. 4-30.14.3.4, revise accordingly.

10. Sheet 5: Per T.S.M. 10-01.3.3.D, relocate the proposed curb access ramp located at Sta. 9+76.27, RT (E. Rabbit Run Way) to be more inline with ramp across the street.

11. Sheet 5: Identify and provide details for the proposed drainage structure located at Sta. 10+43.65, RT (E. Rabbit Run Way).

12. Sheet 8: The information provided for the proposed storm drain located on the north end of S. Trapper Ridge does not correspond with the information shown in Detail 1/2, verify and revise accordingly.

13. Sheet 8: The COT Standard Manual for Drainage Design and Floodplain Management Sec. 10.9.21specifies a minimum of 3' of cover over storm drain conduits. It appears that there will be only 1.5' of cover.

14. Sheet 6 & 8: Correct north arrow orientation.

Please Refer to redline drawings for additional comments and comment details.
