If the gas pressure at the meter is 7" of water, revise the sizes of the existing natural gas pipes to accommodate the proposed new kitchen equipment. (Verify that the heat capacity used for calculating the size of the natural gas pipes is 1000 BTU per cubic foot.) Reference: Sections 402.1 and 402.3, IFGC 2012. 2. Coordinate the sizes of the natural gas piping shown on the floor plan with those shown on the piping isometric. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 3. Appliances (e.g. soda dispensers, ice makers, etc.) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC 2012 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012. 4. Provide for sterilization and testing of the domestic water system per Section 610, IPC 2012. 5. At a minimum, beverage dispensers (e.g. coffee dispensers) require the use of a backflow preventer listed to ASSE 1022. Reference: Section 608.16.10, IPC 2012. 6. Indirect waste piping that has a developed length greater than 30-inches (30") when measured horizontally or greater than 54-inches (54") in total developed length shall be trapped. Exception: indirect waste piping conveying only clear-water waste (e.g. effluent from a sanitizing compartment) does not require a trap. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2012. |
