4. Sheet C1 (Code Review); Sheet A2 (Floor Plan): The Code Review (Fire Resistive Requirements) entry for 'Shaft Enclosures' indicates 'N/A'. The floor plan on Sheet A2 indicates a duct chase at the west side of the floor plan (south of stair 101). Is this shaft being utilized for new ductwork related to this project? The IBC Section 713 does require a fire resistance rating for shaft enclosures. Please clarify and revise the drawings as required.
5. Sheet C1; Code Review (Sprinklers): The Code Review entry for 'Sprinklers' indicates 'Not required-provided'. The Code Review entry for 'Allowable Area Calculations' indicates "Sprinklers-No'. Please clarify.

11/20/2017 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Verify that the specified metering faucet for the lavatory will dispense a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle and that cycle will last for at least 10-seconds. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09.
2. Provide tempered water for the public restroom lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012.

11/21/2017 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Demonstrate energy code compliance for the addition to the building envelope using calculations based on the current code. Reference: Sections C101.4.3, C101.5, C103.2, C303, and C401.2.1, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
2. Provide NFRC fenestration product ratings for the U-factor and the SHGC values on COMcheck or use the appropriate default U-factor and SHGC values from Tables C303.1.3 (1), C303.1.3 (2) and C303.1.3 (3), IECC 2012. Reference: Section C303.1.3, IECC 2012.
3. Demonstrate energy code compliance for the HVAC system serving the building addition using calculations based on the current code. Reference: Sections C101.4.3, C101.5, C103.2, and C403, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
4. Show that each rooftop unit has a thermostatic control that provides for off-hour and set-back control, automatic shutdown and automatic start-up control (i.e. the thermostat is capable of automatically adjusting the start time of the HVAC equipment in order to bring the interior conditions to the desired temperature at the start of occupancy) and, if the thermostat does not require manual changeover from the heating and cooling modes, it restricts set point overlap. Reference: Section C403.2.4, IECC 2012.
5. Condensate drains shall be terminated at an approved disposal location. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
6. Provide air-balancing data for HP-2 (supply air and outside air) and for HP-1 (outside air). Reference: Sections 403.1 and 403.2, IMC 2012.

COMMENTS: Please resubmit revised drawings and any redlined plans along with a detailed response letter, which states how all Zoning Review Section comments were addressed.


1. COMMENT: Zoning has reviewed the building plans for compliance with the current version of the (unapproved) development package DP17-0264. While the building footprint is consistent with the current version of the DP as it relates to the zoning review purview (Use, Building footprint, Height, Building square footage, Site conditions etc) zoning cannot approve the building plans until the Commercial Plans reviewers have approved the building plans and the Development Package has been fully approved by PDSD.

2. COMMENT: Zoning will review the building plans on the next submittal as it relates to the zoning review purview and compare the building plan footprint, building height, and square footage and location to ensure consistency with the DP. (Include as reference a copy of the most current or the approved and PDSD stamped version of the DP with the next building submittal.)

3. COMMENT: If any changes are necessary, due to the PDSD Commercial Plan Reviewer's comments that affect or change the building footprint, height, or square footage, the DP will need to be updated prior to approval of the building plans by Zoning.

4. COMMENT: Once the plans have been reviewed and approved by the Commercial Plan Reviewers and zoning has verified consistency with the DP, the building plans can be approved by zoning.
