01/17/2018 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | The roof framing drawing, S2.2, still does not include heat pump HP-1 and its 750-pound point load. [Initial comment: The roof framing drawing, S2.2, does not include heat pump HP-1 and its 750-pound point load. Coordinate with the architect. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012.] |

01/18/2018 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The submitted shop drawings from Sonny's for the tunnel equipment call for the plumbing contractor to install a reduced pressure principle backflow prevention assembly (RP) prior to the equipment water supply (see P.14). Show the location for the RP on the plumbing drawings. [Initial comment: Show that each equipment water connection is protected from backflow. Reference Sections 608.1 and 608.16, IPC 2012.] 2. The dry vent for the combination waste and vent system in the equipment room includes a horizontal vent section located between the 4" floor cleanout and the vertical rise of the dry vent (see P2.1). This horizontal section of vent could be blocked by waste flow; relocate the floor cleanout so that this section of pipe may be cleaned if needed. [Initial comment: Verify that all of the vents (except for vents serving interceptors located outdoors) rise vertically to at least 6" above the flood rims of the fixtures they protect prior to running horizontally. Reference: Section 905.4, IPC 2012.] 3. Relocate the backwater valve to provide protection for the drinking fountain. The drinking fountain is installed on a floor that requires the installation of a backwater valve. [Initial comment: The rim elevation of the next upstream sanitary manhole (MH 5831-30, 2524.0') is less than 12" below the first floor elevation of the equipment area and occupied area (2524.19') and is higher than the floor elevation of the wash tunnel (2523.69'). Provide a backwater valve per Section 715.1, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.] 4. The vent for the sand/oil interceptor is located on the wrong side of the interceptor. Reference: Section 103.9, IPC 2012. |
