12/22/2017 | PIMA COUNTY | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | T`17CM08084 – PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS – 2nd review Reviewer: Chris Anderson, December 20, 2017 BUILDING – COMMERCIAL Regarding previous building comment 1: there are still architectural and engineering sheets in this drawing set with undated professional seals. Each seal should bear two dates; the date of signing and the expiration date of the seal per Rules of the Board of Technical Registration as found in the Arizona Administrative Code”: Regarding previous building comment 11: the geotechnical report, Terracon #63165064, is marked “DRAFT” on all sheets. Submit the final version of this report sealed by the geotechnical engineer. Foundations are designed by the structural engineer for 2000 psf soil bearing capacity at 18” below ground surface as indicated in the draft soils report. A finalized geotechnical report showing the same soil bearing capacity at 18” below grade must be submitted prior to approval of the structural drawings. |
12/22/2017 | PIMA COUNTY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | MECHANICAL – COMMERCIAL Regarding previous mechanical comments 1and 2: mechanical heating and cooling load calculations were submitted, however most of the units specified on the Gas Fired Rooftop Unit Schedule, sheet M-3.1, appear to be oversized based on a comparison of the sensible cooling loads to sensible cooling capacities for each unit. It is our position that a reasonable overage of capacity to load may be allowed so long as this overage for each unit is as close to the calculated cooling load as possible given the incremental capacities of available heating and cooling units. In the load calculation please label each unit to correspond to the equipment schedule and justify how each selected unit complies with the intent of the code-required limitation for capacities in C402.2 of the 2012 IECC. Regarding previous mechanical comment 3: all text in these document shall be minimum 3/32” high, both upper and lower case. Text included on sheet MH-1.1 does not comply and is unreadable. Regarding response to previous mechanical comment 4: please identify where in the submittals a description of the kitchen hoods fan operation using a store open/closed switch is located. I cannot find any reference to this system in the documents. |
