Provide a design for the mounting shelf for the water heater along with structural calculations to show that the water heater is safely supported from the building structure. Reference: Section 301.2, IPC 2012. 2. Provide a detail of the water heater installation, including the excess pressure relief, expansion tank, vacuum relief or other anti-siphon device, safety pan, and valves. Reference: Sections 503, 504, 606.1, and 607.3, IPC 2012. 3. Appliances (e.g. espresso machines, carbonated drink dispensers, ice makers, etc.) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC 2012 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012. 4. Water supply connections to beverage dispensers shall be protected with backflow preventers conforming to ASSE 1022. Reference: Section 608.16.1, IPC 2012. 5. The manufacturer's installation instructions for the specified hydromechanical grease interceptor call for the use of a flow restriction device to prevent an overflow from the floor sink. Show how this is to be accomplished. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2012. 6. Provide a cleanout for the section of the building drain located immediately downstream of the hydromechanical grease interceptor. Reference: Section 708.3.1 and 708.3.3, IPC 2012. 7. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012. 8. Indirect waste piping that has a developed length greater than 30-inches (30") when measured horizontally or greater than 54-inches (54") in total developed length shall be trapped. Exception: indirect waste piping conveying only clear-water waste (e.g. effluent from a sanitizing compartment) does not require a trap. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2012. 9. Verify that all of the vents rise vertically to at least 6" above the flood rims of the fixtures they protect prior to running horizontally (i.e. no "flat vents" allowed). Reference: Section 905.4, IPC 2012. 10. Hand sinks in the kitchen are allowed to connect to the sanitary waste system instead of the grease waste system only if each sink has a sign posted above it stating, "HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATION OR DISHWASHING ALLOWED." Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. |
