09/26/2017 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | The submitted development plans do not show the existing 4" building sewer and cleanout shown on sheet P1. [Initial comment: Verify that the existing drainage piping and fitting materials that will now be located under the proposed addition are included in Table 702.2, IPC 2012. Reference: Section 702, IPC 2012.] |
09/26/2017 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Revise the energy code compliance calculations to include door 112 (aluminum/glass entry door) and the solatubes. Show the maximum U-values and SHGC that will be acceptable for the fenestration on the drawings. Stipulate that all of the fenestration components are to be NFRC-certified or use the default values when using COMcheck. Reference: Section C303.1.3, IECC 2012. [Initial comment: Provide energy code compliance calculations for the additions to the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the additions to the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections C101.4.3, C101.5, and C103.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.] 2. The roof framing drawing does not show the locations or the weights of the rooftop equipment and the structural calculations do not include the point loads for the equipment. [Initial comment: Provide structural calculations to show that the building structure will safely support the proposed heat pumps. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012.] |
10/09/2017 | ERIC NEWCOMB | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Previous Comment 3; Sheet TS1: As requested, the addition of a special inspection for site preparation was not added to the Special Inspection Certificate. Please add and resubmit the Certificate. 2. Previous Comment 4; Sheet ASP1 (Site Plan): The added dimensions to this plan indicate the west wall of the addition is 7'-8" from the property line. Per the IBC Table 602, a one hour fire resistance rated wall is required. Sheet A1 (Partition Types) does not indicate a rated wall at that location (Partition Type 6A). Please revise the partition type and include the U.L. listing number for the wall. In addition, Table 705.8 provides the requirements for the maximum area of openings allowed in that exterior wall. Revise the window size as needed to meet this requirement, and indicate on this sheet the calculations for the allowable opening size. 3. General: Please provide written responses to all review comments. |
