08/18/2017 ERIC NEWCOMB BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Completed
08/22/2017 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. The submitted cooling load calculations are not based on the exterior design conditions shown in Section 302.2, IECC 2012, as modified by the City of Tucson (Summer 104Fdb/66Fwb, Winter 32F). In addition, the calculations show a total heat gain of 90,358 BTUH while the proposed cooling capacity is 128,400 BTUH. Revise the calculations using the approved design conditions and provide justification for installing HVAC units having a total cooling capacity that exceeds the total cooling load shown in the submitted calculations. Reference: Section C403.2.2, IECC 2012. [Initial comment: Provide heating and cooling load calculations that use the exterior design conditions shown in Section 302.2, IECC 2012, as modified by the City of Tucson.]
2. Condensate drains may not terminate over a roof drain or gutter unless the roof drain or gutter terminates at or below grade in an area capable of absorbing the condensate flow without surface drainage. The shell drawings indicate that the roof drains will terminate at the parking lot curb face. [Initial comment: Condensate drains may not terminate in an area that is not capable of absorbing the condensate flow without surface drainage (e.g. the roof). Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.]
3. The treatment rooms, the sterilization room, and the lab are not offices; they more closely resemble medical procedure rooms. [Initial comment: Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation using the current code. Reference: Section 403.2, IMC 2012.]
08/22/2017 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Comment not resolved. A manual faucet with a flow rate of 0.25 gallons per minute is not the same as a metering faucet that dispenses a maximum of 0.25 gallons per cycle. [Initial comment: Provide automatic faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the automatic faucet cycles will last for at least 10-seconds. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09.]
2. An indirect waste receptor (e.g. a hub drain) must have ready access. A vented grille covering the receptor prevents ready access (see "ready access" in Section 202, IPC 2012). The revised drawings did not address the concealed hub drain in room 111. [Initial comment: Indirect waste receptors shall not be installed in a closet or cupboard, or unventilated space (e.g. hub drain for the model trimmer in room 111 and hub drain for the bottle filler in room 101). Reference: Section 802.3, IPC 2012.]
