07/12/2017 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Provide a dedicated shut off valve for all of the gas outlets in the lab at a readily accessible location adjacent to the egress door. Note the definition of "ready access (to)" in Section 202, IFGC 2012. Reference: Section 409.6, IFGC 2012. 2. Correct the water heater detail, 4/P3.0, to call out a vacuum relief valve rather than a vacuum breaker. Reference: Section 504.2, IPC 2012. 3. Revise the termination of the pan drain shown in detail 4/P3.0 so that the drain terminates over the floor drain. Reference: Section 504.7.2, IPC 2012/. 4. Provide automatic faucets for the lavatories, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the automatic faucet cycles will last for at least 10-seconds. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09. 5. Indirect waste receptors shall not be installed in a closet or cupboard, or unventilated space (e.g. hub drain for the model trimmer in room 111 and hub drain for the bottle filler in room 101). Reference: Section 802.3, IPC 2012. |

07/12/2017 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that use the exterior design conditions shown in Section 302.2, IECC 2012, as modified by the City of Tucson. 2. Provide calculations for the building envelope to demonstrate compliance with the energy code; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. As a minimum, the information shall include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012. 3. Show that the proposed HVAC system meets the requirements of Sections C403.2, C403.3 (e.g. provide the mechanical energy code compliance certification from COMcheck). Reference: Section C303.1, International Energy Conservation Code 2012. 4. Show that each rooftop unit has a thermostatic control that provides for off-hour and set-back control, automatic shutdown and automatic start-up control (i.e. the thermostat is capable of automatically adjusting the start time of the HVAC equipment in order to bring the interior conditions to the desired temperature at the start of occupancy). If the thermostat does not require manual changeover from the heating and cooling modes, show that it restricts set point overlap. Reference: Section C403.2.4, IECC 2012. 5. Condensate drains may not terminate in an area that is not capable of absorbing the condensate flow without surface drainage (e.g. the roof). Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 6. Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation using the current code. Reference: Section 403.2, IMC 2012. 7. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans to show that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted during the hours of operation. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012. 8. Revise the mechanical design as required to avoid using the corridor as a return air duct. Reference: Section 601. |
