| 05/12/2017 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The exterior design temperature for load calculations is 104 degrees Fahrenheit (dry bulb) and 66 degrees Fahrenheit (wet bulb). Reference: Section C302.2, IECC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. [Initial comment: Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012, and Section 312.1, IMC 2012.] 2. Keynote #4 on sheet E3.0 calls for the restroom exhaust fans to be controlled by an occupancy sensor that turns off the fans when the lights are off. The restroom exhaust fans shall run whenever air is being supplied to the restrooms during the hours of operation. [Initial comment: Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans to show that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted (i.e. the supply air will be exhausted even if the lights are turned off). Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012.] |
| 05/19/2017 | ERIC NEWCOMB | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Sheet A1.0; Code Review Checklist: Please revise the ICC/ANSI Accessibility Code to the 2009 Edition. 2. Sheet A2.0; Floor Plan A: Keynote 28 indicates a water cooler with cup dispenser. The City of Tucson requires either a high/low drinking fountain or a single point of use water dispenser that is connected directly to a water line (no drain required). Please indicate the type on the drawings. Sheet P2.2 indicates a water cooler with water supply by others. 3. Sheet A2.1; Floor Plan B: Pod 9 has a section indicated that references H/A6.0. Please revise that section reference. 4. Sheet A2.1: Please provide a note on this sheet to reference Sheet A2.0 for wall types. 5. Sheet A3.0; Reflected Ceiling Plan: With the exceptiion of the exit signs at exterior doors in the rear of this tenant space, the exit signs indicate a direction toward the front (south) exit door. Please revise the direction of the exit signs to direct egress to the north and south exits evenly. 6. Sheet A3.0; Reflected Ceiling Plan: The exit signs located above the doors to the waiting area near the check in/check out areas should be located at the end of the corridors and be directional toward the doors. 7. Sheets A3.0; Reflected Ceiling Plan: The exit sign above the door at the end of the corridor near restroom R-6 directs egress into a path not indicated on the Exit Plan (Sheet A1.0). In addition, this door swings opposite to the egress travel. Please reference the IBC Section 1008.1.2 for door swings in a means of egress. 8. Sheet A3.0; Reflected Ceiling Plan: Please provide a directional exit sign at the north end of the east corridor that directs egress to the rear door in the west corridor as shown on the Exit Plan (Sheet A1.0). 9. Sheet A3.0; Reflected Ceiling Plan: With regards to comment 8, please consider providing a directional exit sign that directs egress to the exit door in the west corridor as well as to the door in the east corridor near restroom R-6. Doing this would help disperse the occupants to two exits rather than one. 10. Sheet A3.0; Reflected Ceiling Plan: Please indicate on the plan the location of emergency lighting per the IBC Section 1006.3. 11. Sheet A3.1; Roof Plan: Please provide a detail on the drawings illustrating Keynote 1. 12. Sheet A3.1: Please provide structural calculations to verify the capacity of the existing roof to safely support the new rooftop units. 13. Sheet A3.1; Roof Plan: The roof plan indicates the installation of six rooftop mounted heat pumps. Sheets M1.0 and M2.0 indicate five units. Please coordinate. 14. Sheet A4.0; Details 6, 11, and 12: Please include in these details the attachment of the diagonal bracing to the structure. Include the bracing size, gauge, and spacing along with the required number and size of connectors of the brace to the top of the wall and to the structure above. 15. Sheet A5.0: Please provide a note on this sheet to reference Sheet A7.0 for the restroom grab bar locations. 16. General: Please provide written responses to all review comments. |
