05/09/2017 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The ventilation calculations appear to show that the air supplied to the two restrooms exceeds the exhaust airflow rates. Revise airflow balance to ensure that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012. [Initial comment: Provide calculations demonstrating adequate ventilation for the multiple zone recirculating HVAC system. Reference: Sections 403.2, 403.3, and 403.3.2.3, IMC 2012. 2. The presence of carbon dioxide storage consisting of more than two 50-pound cylinders within the building requires the installation of a mechanical exhaust system. The exhaust system shall exhaust at least 1 CFM per square foot from the area containing the stored carbon dioxide if the CO2 concentration reaches 30,000 PPM. The exhaust shall be taken from a point 12" above the floor and it shall terminate a minimum of 36" above the roofline. The exhaust termination shall also be a minimum of 10-feet from operable openings into the building and 10-feet above grade. [Initial comment: If the carbon dioxide storage consists of more than two 50-pound cylinders, provide a mechanical exhaust system activated by an asphyxiant gas detection system.
