04/27/2017 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change Revised U-value and SHGC specifications for the new fenestration was not found on the drawings. Provide the maximum acceptable NFRC-certified U-value and SHGC specifications for the new fenestration. [Second comment: Revise the COMcheck component descriptions to agree with the submitted drawings. Provide the maximum acceptable NFRC-certified U-value and SHGC specifications for the new fenestration. Provide data to verify that the relocated window complies with the current code requirements for U-value and SHGC.] [Initial comment: Provide energy code compliance calculations for the additions to the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the additions to the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. 04/27/2017 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change Scuppers act as weirs and do not have the same capacity as a pipe running even half full. In addition, Table 1106.2, IPC 2012 has nothing to do with scupper dimensions. [Second comment: Provide calculations to show that a 4" diameter scupper has the same flow characteristics as a 4"x 4" rectangular scupper with a water head of 2". An overflow scupper cannot be part of the primary scupper. The overflow scupper shall provide the same capacity as the primary scupper when the primary scupper is blocked for any reason and shall discharge to a different location than the primary scupper.] [Initial comment: Provide calculations to support the scupper design (detail 7/A3) and provide overflow protection for the roof or provide structural calculations to show that the roof is capable of supporting the additional rain load. Reference: Sections 1101.7, 1106, 1108.2 and 1108.3, IPC 2012 and Section 1611.1, IBC 2012.]
