02/16/2017 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Correct the natural gas load and pipe size for the fryer (see the equipment schedule on sheet A2.0). Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2012.
2. Verify the required minimum gas pressure for the new appliances. Southwest Gas provides natural gas at 7" WG, 2 PSIG, and 5 PSIG. Appliances needing gas service at 7" WG or greater will require a gas meter that delivers at least 2 PSIG gas into a regulator located after the meter set. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2012.
3. Provide waste and vent isometrics for the new plumbing work. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
4. Verify that the Pima County Health Department will allow the proposed configuration of the 3-compartment sink. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
5. Appliances (e.g. soda dispensers, ice makers, etc.) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC 2012 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012.
6. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012.
7. Indirect waste piping that has a developed length greater than 30-inches (30") when measured horizontally or greater than 54-inches (54") in total developed length shall be trapped. Exception: indirect waste piping conveying only clear-water waste (e.g. effluent from a sanitizing compartment) does not require a trap. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2012.
8. The specified grease interceptor is a hydromechanical grease interceptor, not a gravity grease interceptor. Using the gravity grease interceptor sizing calculations results in a gigantically over-sized unit. The minimum capacity for a hydromechanical grease interceptor shall be 25 GPM and 50-pounds of grease storage. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
9. A Rockford RP-250 grease interceptor has a 4" inlet and outlet. Any fitting or connection in a drainage system that results in a reduction of the pipe area is prohibited (e.g. the 3" drain leaving the interceptor). Reference: Section 706.2, IPC 2012.
02/17/2017 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Calculation of the required minimum ventilation for air handlers serving multiple zones requires the balancing data (supply CFM) for each zone and the calculations described in Sections 403.3.2.3.1 through 403.3.2.3.4, IMC 2012. Include the corridor area in the calculations. Reference: section 403.3.2.3, IMC 2012.
1. Clarify the heating method for the existing A/C unit; the schedule shows "ELEC" for the heating but also shows an AFUE of 81%. Gas-fired heating units require a zone air distribution effectiveness (Ez) of 0.8 to be used in the ventilation calculations. Reference: Section 403.3.1.2, IMC 2012.
2. Provide the listing information for the specified Type I hood; the specified model does not appear on the web site for Econ Air. Reference: Section 507.1, IMC 2012.
3. Clarify how the make-up air is to be introduced into the kitchen. Detail 11/M1.0 and the mechanical plan do not appear to agree. Verify that the introduction of high velocity air in the immediate vicinity of the hood will not adversely affect the operation of the hood. Reference: Sections 304.1 and 507.1, IMC 2012.
4. Clarify how a shelf is to be located above the wok range without adversely affecting the operation of the hood. Reference: Sections 304.1 and 507.1, IMC 2012.
5. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2012 (the hood hanging weight plus the weight of personnel working in or on the hood). Reference: Section 304.1, IMC 2012.
6. Verify that the stainless steel wall covering extends at least 18" beyond the hood in all directions (including the sides of the hood). Reference: section 507.9, IMC 2012.
7. Hood canopies shall extend at least 6" horizontally on all open sides beyond the edge of the top horizontal surface of the appliances under the hood. Reference: Section 507.12, IMC 2012.
03/06/2017 GERRY KOZIOL WWM REVIEW Reqs Change The following is needed for Sewer Connection Fee Application Approval:

Need PCRWRD/IWC/Steven Valencia review of grease interceptor – 520-724-6200 (steven.valencia@pima.gov).

*Need to clarify size of existing water meter on drawings. (5/8” water meter per map guide).
