02/08/2017 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Provide calculations to show that the minimum plumbing facilities required by Table 2902.1 and Section 2902.2, IBC 2012 for A3 assembly occupancy are being installed.
1. With regard to the water calculation, Tucson Water limits a 1" meter to a maximum demand of 37.5 GPM.
2. Verify the developed pipe length for the water service; the meter is located at the property line and much further than 50-feet.
3. Verify the minimum available water pressure for this address with Tucson Water; the data from Tucson Water appears to show a pressure range of 57 to 64 PSI. Revise the water pressure calculations as required.
4. Revise the water distribution system design criteria to provide a reasonable pressure drop for the reduced pressure zone assembly, typically 10 PSI or as presented by the manufacturer. Reference: Section 604.1, IPC 2012.
5. Provide third-party listing and material standards for all plumbing fixtures being installed. Reference: Sections 303.4 and 402, IPC 2012.
6. Provide an automatic faucet for the lavatory, dispensing a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle. Verify that the automatic faucet will operate for a minimum time of 10-seconds. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-09.
7. Provide tempered water for the lavatories and public hand-washing sinks in restrooms using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070. Reference: Sections 416.5, 607.1, and 607.1.2, IPC 2012.
8. Considering the revisions to the existing horizontal drains, clarify how the existing lavatory is to be drained and vented. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
02/09/2017 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Clarify the dimensions of the transfer grilles between the lobby and the chapel; are they 12 x 10 or 14 x 4?
2. Calculation of the required minimum ventilation for air handlers serving multiple zones requires the balancing data (supply CFM) for each zone and the calculations described in Sections 403.3.2.3.1 through 403.3.2.3.4, IMC 2012. Reference: section 403.3.2.3, IMC 2012.
3. Provide justification for the occupant density for the Pulpit (i.e. see Table 403.3, IMC 2012 for an occupancy that is similar with regard to occupant density and activity). Reference: Section 403.3, IMC 2012.
4. Revise the mechanical design as required to avoid using corridor A102 as a return air duct. Reference: Section 601.2, IMC 2012.
5. Show how the duct penetrations will maintain the integrity of the fire-rated floor-ceiling assembly and the fire-rated partition in the lobby. Reference: Sections 607.5.3, and 607.6.1, IMC 2012
