Comments:

The TDOT Permit Review Section has reviewed the PIA Plan and recommends a resubmittal. The following comments need to be addressed in the subsequent plan submittal.

1. Please provide DOT Notes (see attached).

2. Please note that the proposed new sewer, shown on sheet 3 of 7, is not within an easement but in right-of-way, please revise.

B. Permanent Patches

1. Permanent patches shall be in accordance with Standard Detail No. 216. Type B patches shall be used for all streets shown on the MS&R Plan and all inverted water-carrying streets. A list of inverted water-carrying streets will be maintained in the City of Tucson, Engineering Office. During trenching activities, care shall be taken to preserve the shoulder at the trench top.

2. For longitudinal trenches whose top widths exceed four feet, the roadway shall be repaved with a combination of materials having the same structural strength and surface course as the existing pavement according to the following schedule.

Trench/Width Repaving Width
4' - 12' One-half pavement width or one lane width, depending on trench location
Over 12' Full pavement width

4. Patches for transverse trench shall be twice the trench width.

1. The Contractor must obtain an Right of Way Permit from the City of Tucson Transportation Engineering Division prior to any work in the City Public right-of-ways.

2. The Contractor must meet with the City's right-of-way inspector prior to any work in the public right-of-way.

3. All backfill, within the City of Tucson right-of-way, above the utility shading shall be conducted in accordance to the City of Tucson Transportation Standard Details, Specifications, and as directed by the City of Tucson right-of-way inspector and City Engineer.

4. All pavement patching, within the City of Tucson right-of-way, shall be conducted in accordance to the City of Tucson Transportation Standard Details, Specifications, and as directed by the City of Tucson right-of-way inspector and City Engineer.

5. In accordance to the City of Tucson Standards, permanent pavement patching shall be warrantied for 5-years, pavement patch's failing within this period shall be repaired/replaced at no cost to the City of Tucson.
