01/27/2017 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Verify that the installation of the relocated Type I hood complies with the clearance requirements of Section 507.9, IMC 2012 (e.g. the stainless steel backsplash shall extend 18" beyond the hood.)
2. Provide the balancing information for the relocated Type I hood. If the hood is not listed, provide an exhaust flow rate per Section 507.13.13.3, IMC 2012.
3. Verify that the makeup air for the kitchen is adequate for the two Type I hoods. Reference: section 508.1, IMC 2012.
4. Show that the changes to the storefront will not result in an increase in the energy usage of the building. Reference: exception g, Section 5.1.3, ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2010.

Verify if an existing grease interceptor is currently in place to prevent the discharge of fats, oil, and grease into the public sewer. If a grease interceptor is not in place, show how the public sewer is to be protected from harmful discharges. Reference: Section 1003.1, IPC 2012.
2. Hand sinks in the kitchen are allowed to connect to the sanitary waste system instead of the grease waste system only if each sink has a sign posted above it stating, "HANDWASH SINK ONLY! NO FOOD PREPARATION OR DISHWASHING ALLOWED." Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
