01/11/2017 | PIMA COUNTY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | MECHANICAL – COMMERCIAL In regards to response to previous mechanical comment 1, “the engineer calculations indicate a 12 ton design load” is incorrect. Per the submitted cooling load calculations, 3.3 tons (AC-1) + 3.0 tons (AC-2) + 2.7 tons (AC-3) = 9 tons required cooling. If you intend to reuse the existing unit for AC-1 (5 tons) and reuse the existing unit for AC-3 (4 tons) as you show on the revised plan, the existing equipment supply the required cooling per the load calculations without addition of a new 3-ton AC-2. Adding an additional 3 tons puts this development out of compliance with IECC C403.2.2. |
