As per the last plan review comments. TUCSON/PIMA COUNTY OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE COMMENT. #1. It was requested by the plan reviewer, to provide information on the plans in detail, including evidence that the proposed work will comply with this code as required in sections 104 thru 106 ( PERMITS and PLAN SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS ), and other sections that may apply as outlined in the TUCSON/PIMA COUNTY OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE, in order to verify that the exterior lighting modifications will be in compliance with this code.
Please provide the following information on the plans so that code compliance can be verified.
(a) The size of the parcel or total developed area in acres.
(b) Total allowed shielded (full cut off) and unshielded lumens for parcel size and Option used per table 401.1.
(c) Provide the total proposed lumens shielded and unshielded, and verify compliance with the lumen caps from the total allowed lumens calculated from 401.1. This should include the total inventory of all exterior luminaires, existing and new on the property. Including all the exterior lighting on the parcel labeled on the plans as, "OUT OF SCOPE".
(d) Section 104.2.2 . Is a special inspection required in accordance with section 106?
(e) If applicable, unshielded exterior luminaires are to comply with curfew requirements of section 403. Show how…(Usually a time clock or programmable lighting controller).
(f) Any exceptions that are applicable may be utilized.
COMMENT #2. It was requested to indicate conduit, conductor sizes and types and wiring methods utilized to intercept the existing branch circuit conductors to feed the new pole lighting. The response letter from Rogers Electric, does not satisfy IBC 107.2.1, as stated. The 2012 IBC sec. 107.2.1, "INFORMATION ON CONSTRUCION DOCUMENTS", clearly states, "CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SHALL BE OF SUFFCIENT CLARITY TO INDICATE THE LOCATION, NATURE AND EXTENT OF THE WORK PROPOSED AND SHOW IN DETAIL THAT IT WILL CONFORM TO THIS CODE AND RELEVANT LAWS, ORDINANCES, RULES AND REGULATIONS. Please revise the plans for clarity and please show on the plan ( E-3 ) in detail how and where the existing branch circuit is to be intercepted, Example: by installing a underground junction box, or in-line spices rated for direct burial, or other code compliant method. Also provide a detail or legend indicating what the solid and dashed lines represent ( not on the legend ) E-0.
Why are luminaires UU01, UU06, UU07, UU10, UU12, Y1, Y2, Y3, not circuited. If some of the exterior luminaires are to be replaced or removed, as indicated per plan sheet E-3 Notes, and are inside the property for this project, they are not, "OUT OF SCOPE" and must be included in the Outdoor Lighting Calcs.
