PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS
Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, highlighting any changes, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken.

SCOPE OF REVIEW:
The scope of this plan review covers architectural, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and electrical. All code references are to the 2012 International Residential Code, 2012 International Fire Code, 2011 National Electrical Code and Arizona Revised Statutes. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
All corrections and revisions shall be made on original tracings or a finished reproducible set. Return two sets along with a set of the first submission for reference. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and note sheets. (Do not cloud the changes made for comment revisions). Incorporate changes on originals and provide two copied sets for review.

GENERAL NOTES:
" Limit all code references to those recognized by the City of Tucson. The 2011 NEC is listed at the Planning & Development Services web site.
" Provide manufacturer specification sheets for collector panels, inverter and mounting hardware.
" Provide compliance with the 2012 International Fire Code 605.11.3.2.3 showing 18" setbacks from hips and valleys where panels/modules are located on both sides of the hip or valley.
" Provide compliance with the 2012 International Fire Code 605.11.3.2.4 showing panels no higher than 3 feet below the ridge where panels are located. The only residential buildings excepted from this requirement are carports and similar open structures. No exception for roof slope.
DIAGRAMS / CALCULATIONS
1. Provide a lag-bolt connection up-lift calculation demonstrating the wind load supporting capability, R301.1. Show the size and total number and spacing of lag bolts.
2. Provide sufficient standoffs for achieving a point load calculation under 45 pounds, R301.1.
3. Show the sum of the main and backfeed breakers not exceeding 120% of the busbar (and conductor) rating, NEC 690.64 & 705.12 (D). The distribution panel bus and extended bus conductor (4) requires a rating for receiving electrical power from two sources. Show the panel rating and a minimum 67 AMP feeder rating when placed between source breakers of 20A & 60A. (67A conductor x 120% equal or greater than 20A + 60A), or move the backfeed breaker to the service panel.
4. Show the continuous grounding electrode conductor size complying with Table 250.66 and not smaller than #8 (copper), NEC 690.47. This is separate from the equipment grounding conductor.
