07/19/2016 | PIMA COUNTY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Sheet P1.2 (and sheet ASP1.0) reference a ¾" water meter for the medical office building. However, the water Pressure Loss Calculations table and Plumbing Fixture Schedule on sheet P3.1 indicate a fixture demand of 33.0 fixture units. In addition the Pressure Loss Calculations indicate a GPM demand for 33 fixture units as 22.0 GPM while 2012 IPC Table E103.3(3) indicates by extrapolation that the GPM for 33 FU's should be approximately 24.1 GPM. Per City of Tucson Water Sizing Guidelines the water meter should be a 1" meter for the demand. Please justify the ¾" meter. |
07/19/2016 | PIMA COUNTY | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. On sheet A1.0 revise exterior wall types descriptions for 6A and 6S to include notation that 1" rigid continuous insulation shall be minimum R-5. There is no mention of rigid insulation in the specifications so this notation is important for envelope to be incompliance with COMcheck values. Also, see Sheet A6.0, note 2 below. 2. On sheet A1.0, plan, change section marker "1/A4.1" to "C/A4.1." 3. On sheet A3.0, details 5 & 6/A3.0, change header shown as built-up wood to tube steel per structural. 4. On sheets A4.0 and A4.1 add notation on building sections that roof assembly to have minimum R-11 continuous insulation in addition to R-38 intermittent insulation per COMcheck values. 5. On sheet A5.0 add note under the glazed storefront elevations that "windows and storefront shall have a maximum U-factor 0.65 with SHGC of 0.70, and entry doors shall have a maximum U-factor of 0.80 with SHGC of 0.70." This is to comply with COMcheck values. 6. On sheet A6.0 indicate both continuous R-11 insulation and intermittent R-38 insulation for roof assembly in all wall sections, in compliance with COMcheck values. 7. On sheet A6.0 revise exterior finish system assembly note to be accurate. Add to it the required moisture barrier and lath. 8. On sheet A6.1, detail 1/A6.1, add note "If a proprietary stucco system is used, installation of the 2-hour fire-rated parapet shall be per the stucco system's most current ICC-ES report. Keep a copy of the ICC-ESR on the jobsite for building inspector's review." 9. On sheet A6.1, detail 1/A6.1, add note "fire-rated drywall installed at parapet shall be suitable for use as exterior sheathing." 10. On sheet A6.1, detail 4/A6.1, fire wall terminates at combustible sheathing (OSB). This is not in compliance with 2012 IBC 706.5, exception 3. 11. On sheet SP1 modify Insulation product 2 (b) (1) roof insulation to so that minimum R-value is 38, not 30; and add continuous R-11 insulation. 12. On sheet SP1 modify insulation product 2 (b) (2) wall insulation to include R-5 continuous rigid insulation as it is not included in the stucco system specification, other than in the Section title. 13. On sheet SP2 aluminum entrance system frames must be thermally broken per COMcheck values. Revise "Aluminum Entrance System" specification to clearly indicate. 14. On sheet SP2 window frames must be thermally broken per COMcheck values. Revise "Windows" specification to clearly indicate. 15. This sheet also includes exterior stucco system. Either delete or make sure that there is no conflict with specification on sheet SP1. 16. On sheet S2.0 keynotes 17 and 18 indicate concrete slab to be 4,000 psi while specification for concrete on sheet S1.0 indicates 3,000 psi designed for 2,500 psi. |
07/19/2016 | PIMA COUNTY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The Heat Pump Schedule on sheet M2.0 uses the cooling ambient air temperature as 110-degrees F, and the heating ambient air temperature as 28-degrees F. The CHVAC load calculations identify the outdoor summer design temperature as 99-degrees F, and the heating design temperature as 28-degrees F. Per City of Tucson amendment to the 2012 IECC (new Table C302.1) the winter outdoor design temperature should be 32-degrees F and the summer design temperature should be 104-degrees F. Neither the load calculations nor the selected heat pumps appear to be in compliance. Please explain. 2. The mechanical COMcheck on sheet M4.0 identifies heating and cooling capacities much higher than what the load calculations and selected unit table shows. Please explain the discrepancy. 3. The mechanical COMcheck identifies that the economizer exception C403.3.1(2) is taken. Please explain how the level of humidity required by this exception is being achieved by the selected equipment. |
