| 06/24/2016 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Show how the customers at the facility are able to access the men's restroom if they are not allowed to freely pass through the automobile service area. Reference: Section 403.3.1, IPC 2012. 2. Unlike plumbing fixtures, evaporative coolers impose a continuous demand on the water distribution system. Determine the demand from the evaporative coolers and add it to the fixture demand. Reference: Section A 2.2, UPC 2012. 3. Show the size and route of the T&P relief pipe from the water heater. Reference: Section 504, IPC 2012. 4. Show the size and route of the T&P relief pipe from the water heater. Reference: Section 504, IPC 2012. 5. Specify the vacuum breaker to be installed for the irrigation system. Verify that it is protected from damage caused by freezing. Reference: Sections 608.13.5, 608.14.2, and 608.16.5, IPC 2012. 6. Show the size, route, and termination of the drains for the evaporative coolers. Reference: Section 802.1.5, IPC 2012. 7. The Roof Downspout Calculations shown on sheet A.4 appear to be based on Tables 1106.2 and 1106.3, IPC 2012. The use of these tables is not an appropriate method for determining the size of a scupper. These tables are respectively for determining the size of vertical downspouts and horizontal pipes running full; scuppers are weirs, not pipes and their sizes are hydraulically calculated. In addition, the scuppers drain discrete roof areas of unequal size with different areas of surrounding vertical walls. Reference: Sections 1101, 1106, and 1108, IPC 2012. |

| 06/24/2016 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Revise the heating and cooling load calculations, using the exterior design conditions shown in Section 302.2, IECC 2012, as modified by the City of Tucson. 2. Clarify the different U-values and R-values used in the calculations shown on sheet A.7, the Envelope Compliance Certificate, and the cooling/heating load calculations. Correct the arithmetic, use recognized R-values for the components, and recognize the parallel heat transfer paths. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 3. Verify that the Solar Heat Gain Coefficients and U-values for the fenestration (sheet A.7) are NFRC-certified. Reference: Section C303.1.3, IECC 2012. 4. Show that specified heat pump has a thermostatic control that provides for off-hour and set-back control, automatic shutdown and automatic start-up control (i.e. the thermostat is capable of automatically adjusting the start time of the HVAC equipment in order to bring the interior conditions to the desired temperature at the start of occupancy) and, if the thermostat does not require manual changeover from the heating and cooling modes, it restricts set point overlap. Reference: Section C403.2.4, IECC 2012. 5. Provide information on the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans to show that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2012. |
