07/15/2016 CLAYTON TREVILLYAN BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change Doors with closers require 12" of clearance on the latch side of the opening when approaching from the push side of the door, Section 404, ANSI A117.1. This would seem to conflict with Section 604.9.3.1 which requires a maximum of 4" from the partition. Yet this problem is nonexistent when the door swing matches the figure provided or the compartment is large enough to accommodate the alternate 56" clearance.
