| 08/28/2017 | ERIC NEWCOMB | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Sheet AB1 (Anchor Bolt Plan); Structural Calculations (Sheet 44): The calculations provide a column design for an HSS6x6x1/4, but the plans indicate four columns that are HSS6x2x1/4. Please provide calculations for those four columns. 2. Sheet E1 (Plan at High Canopy); Structural Calculations (Sheet 14): The calculations indicate J3 is a HSS 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 5/16, while the framing plan indicates a HSS 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1/4. Please coordinate. 3. Sheet E1 (Plan at Lower Flat Canopy); Structural Calculations (Sheet 25): The calculations indicate a B3 and B4 beams on the north side (HSS12x4x1/4), while the framing plan indicates no beams. Please coordinate. 4. Sheet E1 (Plan at Lower Flat Canopy); Structural Calculations (Sheet 33): The calculations indicate a B5 beam (HSS 12x4x1/4), while the framing plan indicates a HSS 2x2x1/4. Please coordinate. 5. Sheet E1 (Plan at Lower Canopy); Structural Calculations (Sheet 36): The calculations indicate a B6 beam (HSS 7x7x5/16), while the framing plan indicates a HSS 6x6x1/4. Please coordinate. 6. Sheet E1; Plan at Lower Flat Canopy: At the east end of this canopy, an existing HSS 12x4 1/4 is indicated. Is there an existing support column on the south end of that beam? Please verify. 7. Structural Calculations: A note in the calculations indicates "Per IBC Section 1614.1, one and two family dwellings in seismic design category "A", "B", and "C" are exempt from seismic design". Please provide seismic calculations for this project. 8. General: Please provide structural general notes on a drawing. Include all design loads, material specifications, required special inspections, etc. 9. General: Please include an index on a drawing that indicates all sheets included in this permit set. 10. General: Please provide a minimum sheet size of 24" x 36" for all drawings. 11. General: Please provide on a drawing the entry canopy square footage and the total number of photo voltaic modules. Break the square footage into the lower canopy, the high canopy, and the lower flat canopy. 12. General: No foundation plan was located for this project. Please provide. 13. General: Please provide written responses for all review comments. |

| 09/18/2017 | DAN SANTA CRUZ | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Please address the following electrical plan review comments. Also provide a written response. #1. Provide plans that are relevant to this activity only. Identify on the plans, the building address for the front building entry array, and provide the correct component diagram, one line, three line, system layout. #2. Provide all conduits, conductors, sizes and types, from the PV panels to the utility interconnection. #3. The copy of the inverter spec sheet is to light to read. #4. Include a complete panel or switchgear schedule for the service, also include in the one- line and three-line diagrams the back fed PV circuit breaker size or rating, locations on the electrical equipment bus. #5. Indicate the ratings of all the electrical equipment including voltage, amperage, phase, fuses, AIC rating of the service equipment and utility disconnect. #6. Indicate the locations of the service equipment on the plans for buildings 8711 and 8725. #7. The equipment lay-out plan shows 88 modules, the string lay-out for inverter #5 shows 90 modules. Please clarify. #8. The Equipment component plan shows 10 Inverters, however all the one-line and three-line diagrams only show 5. Also Inverter #5 identification block with #1 in it does not correlate with the legend. Or locations on the plan. #9. Ref: 3-line diagram. The feeders between inverter #5 and the taps at the 225 KVA transformer are shown as #6 AWG CU, (65 amps), OCPD not shown. The feeders between the AC combiner panel and the taps at the 225 KVA transformer are shown as 250 Kcmil (205) amps and OCPD sized at 200 amps, ( Combined from inverters #1 thru #4 ). Both feeders shown tapped at the same terminals at the 225KVA transformer and has a potential of back -feeding current from the 200 amp AC combiner panel ( via transformer taps ) into the smaller feeder should there be a ground fault somewhere in the inverter #5 output AC feeder. This scenario would result in a possible threat to the well-being of life and property. Provide overcurrent protection of the inverter #5 feeders . NEC 240.4. #10. Identify each plan sheet with a number or letter. #11. 3/32" is the minimum text font size allowed on the plans. Some of the lettering or symbols are to small to read. #12. Please provide contact information for the electrical registrant of record. #13. Indicate the size of the PV system in total KW. #14. Provide a Grounding Electrode System for the 225 KVA transformer. NEC 250. #15. Back fed parallel PV circuit breakers must meet the requirements of 240.8 NEC. Ref: 2012 IBC 107.2.1, 2011 NEC art. 240,250, 310,690, 705. |
