06/13/2016 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Section R4-30-304 of the Rules of the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, states that in addition to signing the seal, the registrant shall include the date the document was sealed and that a notation shall be placed beneath the seal, written, typed, or electronically generated, that provides the day, month, and year of the expiration of current registration. (Effective March 8, 2008). 2. The use of a bottle filling station in lieu of two accessible drinking fountains will require the installation of drinking cups at an accessible location. Reference: Section 410.2, IPC 2012. 3. All healthcare related fixtures, devices, and equipment (e.g. Ram-Vac) shall discharge to the building drainage system utilizing an air gap, not air break. The Ram-Vac detail appears to show a direct connection to the sanitary waste system. Reference: Section 802.1, IPC 2012. 4. Verify that indirect waste receptors will not be installed in inaccessible or unventilated spaces (e.g. cupboards, storerooms, or closets). Indirect waste receptors shall have ready access. Reference: Section 802.3, IPC 2012. 5. Provide a single, dedicated shut off valve for all of the gas outlets in the lab, located adjacent to the egress door, readily accessible, and with the required signage. The shut off valve installation described in keynote 9 on sheet P1.2 is not readily accessible and is not located adjacent to the egress door. Reference: Section 409.6, IFGC 2012. |

06/14/2016 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The portion of the building shell being modified in this activity does not appear to have been conditioned. Section C101.4.5, IECC 2012 requires the space to be brought into full compliance with the current energy code. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012. 2. Show how one of the "Additional Efficiency Package Options" (C406, IECC 2012) is to be accomplished. Reference: Section C401.2, IECC 2012. 3. Revise the heating and cooling load calculations, using the exterior design conditions shown in Section 302.2, IECC 2012, as modified by the City of Tucson. 4. Verify that the specified HVAC systems are provided with controls that are capable of automatically adjusting the start time of the HVAC equipment in order to bring the interior conditions to the desired temperature at the start of occupancy. Reference: Section C403.2.4.3.3, IECC 2012. 5. The three AC units are not located in the same locations as those shown on the structural drawings for the shell building. Provide structural calculations to verify that the new roof top AC units will be safely supported by the building structure. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012. 6. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains from the rooftop AC units. Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2012 as amended by the City of Tucson. 7. Provide calculations to verify that adequate ventilation will be provided for the occupied spaces. Reference: Section 401.2, IMC 2012. 8. Provide an air balancing report prior to the final mechanical inspection to verify that the HVAC systems are capable of supplying and exhausting at least the minimum air flow rates called for in the design drawings. The balancing shall be performed by a qualified balancing contractor in accordance with the procedural standards of either the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) or the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC). Reference: Section 403.7, IMC 2012. 9. Revise the mechanical design as required to avoid using the egress corridors as return air ducts. Reference: Section 601.2, IMC 2012. |
