2. Water supply connections to beverage dispensers (e.g. soda, coffee, tea, etc.) shall be protected with backflow preventers conforming to ASSE 1022. Reference: Section 608.16.1, IPC 2012.
3. Any fitting or connection in a drainage system that results in a reduction of the pipe area is prohibited (see W&V Diagram - Kitchen). Reference: Section 706.2, IPC 2012.
4. Provide cleanouts for all horizontal drains; the cleanouts shall be sized per Section 708.7, IPC 2012 and shall open to allow cleaning in the direction of flow. Reference: Sections 708.3.1 and 708.5, IPC 2012.
5. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sinks (P-2 and P-3) to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012.
6. Indirect waste piping that has a developed length greater than 30-inches (30") when measured horizontally or greater than 54-inches (54") in total developed length shall be trapped. Exception: indirect waste piping conveying only clear-water waste (e.g. effluent from a sanitizing compartment) does not require a trap. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2012.
7. If the existing rooftop units are gas-fired, provide a natural gas schematic showing the loads and developed lengths for all of the gas piping being served by the gas meter. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
