Clarify the purpose of installing a backflow preventer (General Note 7 on sheet P1.2, Watts 9DM) on equipment with solenoid valves but not installing water hammer arrestors (ASSE 1010). Reference: Section 604.9, IPC 2012. 2. Water supply connections to beverage dispensers (e.g. coffee makers, etc.) shall be protected with backflow preventers conforming to ASSE 1022. Reference: Section 608.16.1, IPC 2012. 3. Coordinate General Note 8 on sheet P1.2 with note 3 of the Plumbing Fixture Schedule on sheet P2.1. Clarify which appliances have a direct water connection but are not supplied with filtered water. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012 and Section 608.1, IPC 2012. 4. Provide a direct connection for the hand sink. Reference: Sections 301.3 and 802.1, IPC 2012. 5. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012. 6. Verify the intended use of sink SK-3; it is called out as a "utensil sink" on sheet A7.1 and a "hand sink" on the plumbing drawings. Hand sinks are to be directly wasted but sinks intended to be used for the washing, rinsing, or sanitizing of utensils used for food service shall be indirectly wasted. Reference: Sections 301.3, 802.1, and 802.1.8, IPC 2012. 7. Correct General Note 6 on sheet P1.1 to comply with the requirements of the 2012 IPC. Indirect waste piping that has a developed length greater than 30-inches (30") when measured horizontally or greater than 54-inches (54") in total developed length shall be trapped. Exception: indirect waste piping conveying only clear-water waste (e.g. effluent from a sanitizing compartment) does not require a trap. Reference: Section 802.2, IPC 2012. 8. Show how the vents serving the hydromechanical grease interceptor are to rise vertically to at least 6" above the flood rim of the interceptor prior to running horizontally. Reference: Sections 202 (vertical pipe) and 905.4, IPC 2012. 9. Verify that the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department will allow the drain from the floor sink serving SK-3 to bypass the grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson. 10. Show how the required external flow control device for the hydromechanical grease interceptor is to be installed below the floor level with access for maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Reference: Section 1003.4.2, IPC 2012. |
