05/26/2016 PIMA COUNTY BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Per previous comments, sheets A02, A03, A1 (enlarged restroom plan callout), S0.1, S2.1: the city of Tucson requires all lettering (upper and lower case) to be a minimum of 3/32" in height. Portions of scaled upper and lower case text on these sheets does not comply. Please revise.
2. Response to previous comment 13 regarding "balcony"/canopy support detail callout 8/S4 on sheet A8 is that this detail will be a deferred submittal as part of exterior signage package. The detail in question for supporting the canopy from the exterior wall is critical to the integrity of the building envelope in this location. Include detail as part of the documentation for this building permit. Add note ""Refer to sign package for more details & information" on detail 3/A11 and revise detail callout on sheet A8.
3. In reference to previous comment 16, connection detail 2/A11 structural design is required for "balcony"/canopy. Although this structure is to be part of a deferred submittal for signage, the structural support backing and preparation for attaching the balcony to the wall at a future date must be installed concurrent with the wall framing. Structural calculations/design is needed for canopy to wall connections at a minimum as part of this permit.
05/26/2016 PIMA COUNTY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. In reference to previous comment 1, COMcheck building envelope compliance certificate R-values do not match architectural specifications on drawings. Per COMcheck exterior walls to have continuous R-8 board insulation. Specifications (sheets A7 and SP3) call for minimum R-10. COMcheck calls for minimum R-18 continuous insulation and R-38 insulation between rafters. Insulation specification calls for minimum R-16 continuous roof insulation and specified minimum R-19 batt insulation. Building wall and roof sections on sheets A9 show R-30 continuous roof insulation with no batt insulation between rafters. Revise drawings to match COMcheck. Also identify U-values and SHGC for fenestration on drawings to match what is shown on COMcheck. In response to this comment mention where these values are located in the drawing set.
2. In reference to previous comment 2, the new HVAC load summaries on sheet M1.2 for heat pumps 1, 2 and 3 show that unit 1 sized at 5.6 tons, unit 2 sized at 10.3 tons, and unit 3 sized at 7.7 tons. However, the Packaged Heat Pump Schedule on sheet M1.1 specifies unit 1 at 10 tons, unit 2 at 10 tons and unit 3 at 12.5 tons. It appears that two of the units are over-sized. Please clarify. COMcheck system description on sheet M4.0 will need revision if heat pumps schedule is revised.
3. In reference to previous comment 6, remove "as required" from note 8 added to sheet M2.0 (smoke detectors are required) and add "upstream of any outside air connections, as shown on mechanical plan."

05/26/2016 PIMA COUNTY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. In reference to previous comment 12, CO2 system notes on sheet M2.0 are insufficient. Details pertaining to ventilation, piping, and detection/alarms were requested. Added notes refer to an "existing fire alarm system" which does not exist. Provide schematic diagram(s) for CO2 and alarm system(s).
