| 09/06/2016 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Clarify the type of venting system used for the bar area in revision 2; air admittance valves are not allowed to be used in combination waste and vent systems and most of the branches do not appear to be circuit-vented. Reference: Sections 901.2.1 and 918.3, IPC 2012. [Second comment: Unless the sinks are used for storage, preparation, or handling of food, they must be directly-connected to the drainage system. Reference: Sections 301.3 and 802.1, IPC 2012.] [Initial comment: Clarify the reason for using an indirect waste connection for the dump and hand sinks located at the bar and the server station. Reference: Section 802.1, IPC 2012.] 2. Detail A/M2.1 calls for the recirculating hot water pipes to be insulated but ambiguously states that the insulation is also to be a minimum 8'-0" long; the recirculating hot water pipes are to be insulated for their entire length. Reference Section C404.5, IECC 2012. 3. Detail A/M2.1 refers to a non-condensing water heater but the specified water heater model is a condensing water heater. Show how the condensate will be collected and disposed. Reference: Section 502.1, IPC 2012. |
| 09/06/2016 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The revised design now includes provisions for a CO2 gas ventilation system but the specified exhaust fan does not terminate 36" above the roof level as required in the Tucson Fire Department's Standard Operating Guideline (see sheet A3.1). Note that the Guideline also has specific alarm and control requirements that will need to be addressed (e.g. a manual activation switch located at the room entrance, evacuation alarms, etc.). 2. The exhaust duct for EF-4 appears to be located within the clearance space for the electrical panels. |
| 09/13/2016 | DAN SANTA CRUZ | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Please address the following electrical plan review comments. Also provide a written response. Please verify that the working and dedicated spaces around the electrical panels shown in the mechanical room # 122 are not compromised due to the addition of the CO2 tanks shown in the equipment plan layout ( A 7.0 ), and the flu venting on the mechanical plan shown to be installed to 12" AFF. ( M 1.1 ). 2011 NEC art. 110.26 E. |
