Avenida del Palo Fiero in the City of Tucson. The 234 S. Avenida del Palo Fiero property is located within 500 feet of the closed Nearmont landfill site, which is located south of W. Cushing Street. Mr. Tom Wuelpern, the President of Purebuild, LLC (project architect), submitted a "Self-Certification Statement Form" to the Planning and Development Services Department for the 234 S. Avenida del Palo Fiero property dated March 4, 2016. This form was properly submitted in accordance with City of Tucson Ordinance No. 10037 relative to development and environmental issues in proximity to solid waste landfill sites. The form concluded that there are no site assessment, methane or construction issues applicable to the development of the subject property. ES has reviewed pertinent environmental factors concerning the Nearmont landfill and has also concluded that there are no environmental issues related to the Nearmont landfill associated with development of the 234 S. Avenida del Palo Fiero property. Therefore, the March 4, 2016 signed "Self-Certification Statement Form" for the 234 S. Avenida del Palo Fiero property is approved and no further site investigation or evaluation is required.
