| 05/09/2016 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The Watts model 009QT is an acceptable backflow prevention device as you have indicated on your drawings but it is actually a reduced pressure principle backflow prevention assembly and it is listed to ASSE 1013. [Second comment: Explain how backflow protection is provided for the water connection to the simple syrup mixer (#6). Clarify how the air gap fitting (Watts model 909AG) for the BFP (Watts model 719) is to be installed.] [Initial comment: Appliances (e.g. espresso machines, ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1, 608.3, and 608.16.10, IPC 2012.] 2. The waste and vent riser diagram clearly shows that the 4" grease waste does not have an appropriately sized clean out and in two locations, 3" horizontal drains do not have 3" clean outs. Show the required clean outs on the waste and vent riser diagram. [Second comment: Show the location of the required cleanouts on the drawings.] [Initial comment: Provide cleanouts sized for the nominal size of pipes that they serve up to 4-inches. Reference: Section 708.7, IPC 2012.] |
