This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, please provide two sets of updated plans and calculations with a written response to each of the notated items indicating action taken. Do not cloud the changes made for comment revisions. SCOPE OF REVIEW: The scope of this plan review covers architectural, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and electrical. All code references are to the 2012 International Residential Code and 2012 International Energy Conservation Code. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. GENERAL COMMENTS: 1. Limit all code references to those recognized by the City of Tucson. Adopted codes are listed at the Planning & Development Services web site. Show the NEC code reference as 2011 on sheet A-1. FLOOR PLANS: 1. Exterior walls with a fire separation distance less than 3-foot must have not less than one-hour fire-resistive construction. Show compliance with R302.1 (City of Tucson Amended) by providing materials prescribed in IBC Table 720.1(2), Items 15-1.1 to 16-1.3. This includes a minimum of 5/8" type X gypsum wall board on the interior side. ELEVATIONS: 1. Show compliance with R806 by showing gable vents on sheet A-3. ELECTRICAL PLANS: 1. Show the location of the panel on the Electrical Plan with clear working space compliance, E3601.6.2 & E3705.8. INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE: 1. Tucson is in climate zone 2B. The simplified prescribed energy values for glazing is U=0.40, skylights U=0.65, ceiling R=38 (R-30 with conditions) and walls R=13. Show the maximum "U" factors of the windows and doors on the plans as well as the solar heat gain coefficient SHGC minimum value of 0.25, N1102.1.
