09/19/2017 DAN SANTA CRUZ ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change Please address the following electrical plan review comments. Also provide a written response.
#1. Assign a number for all the PV Electrical plan sheets.
#2. Identify on the plans, the building associated with the given project address for clarity.
#3. Identify and show the locations of all the electrical equipment, services, inverters, array sections, on the plans.
#4. Provide minimum lettering text size of 3/32".
#5. The 'Electrical Component Diagram' does not correlate with the three line diagrams. Component Diagram shows 10 inverters, and the three line only shows 5.
#6. Provide plans only associated with the assigned project. It appears some of the plan sheets are intermixed between projects T15CM08832 and T16CM04104.
#7. Provide a one line and three line diagram that is complete from the PV panels to the point of Utility interconnection. Include detailed information such as: (a) A schematic drawing, three line or one line diagram of the 3000 amp service, services equipment , label all inverters, panels, include; voltage, ampere, bus, AIC, phase, complete with all existing over current devices, their ratings including the main breaker, exact location on the bus of the backfed PV circuit breaker.
#8. The electrical plan reviewer has questions for the Electrical Registrant but was not successful in making contact. Please provide up to date contact information.
#9. Provide the address on the service equipment for the building served.
#10. The plans show 2- 3000 amp services, the three line diagram for building 8711 shows 5 inverters, 4 terminate into a combiner panel, and inverter #5 output feeders tapping directly into a 225KVA transformer. The three line for building 8725 shows #5 inverter only. With 4 other non labeled feeders terminating into the AC combiner panel. Provide complete one line and three line diagrams to show a complete system for both systems. See comment #7. In the case of 8711, The feeders between inverter #5 and the taps at the 225 KVA transformer are shown as #6 AWG CU, (65 amps), OCPD not shown. The feeders between the AC combiner panel and the taps at the 225 KVA transformer are shown as 250 Kcmil (205) amps and OCPD sized at 200 amps, ( Combined from inverters #1 thru #4 ). Both feeders shown tapped at the same terminals at the 225KVA transformer has a potential of back -feeding current from the 200 amp AC combiner panel ( via transformer taps ) into the smaller feeder. Should there be a ground fault somewhere in the inverter #5 output AC feeder, the potential current would be excessively beyond the rating of the conductors. This would result in a possible threat to the well-being of life and property. Provide overcurrent protection of the inverter #5 feeders. NEC 240.4. Or feed #5 inverter output through the AC combiner panel somehow.
#11. Provide for a grounding electrode system for the 225 KVA transformers.
#12. Could not locate exterior lighting plans.
#13. Provide a grounding detail for the grounding of the steel carport and PV panels.
