Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 2. Provide water isometrics and waste and vent isometrics for the new work in the kitchen. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 3. Clarify how the contractor is to "secure access to the oxygen valve as much as code allows". Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012. 4. Provide a direct connection to the sanitary waste system for the discharge of the hydromechanical grease interceptor. Reference: Section 301.3, IPC 2012. 5. Provide tempered water for the lavatories in public restrooms (e.g. the staff restroom); tempered water is defined as having a maximum temperature of 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Reference: Sections 416.5 and 607.1.2, IPC 2012 6. The required automatic faucet for the lavatories shall dispense a maximum of 0.25 gallons per metering cycle; the local amendment does not require a maximum flow rate of 0.25 GPM. Verify that the automatic faucets will operate for a minimum time of 10-seconds. Reference: Section 416.6, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson and Section 606.4, ICC/ANSI A117.1-03. 7. Verify that the pipe sizes called out for the water closet flush valves, and for the faucet and the flush valve for the clinical sink will not result in water velocities greater than that recommended by the pipe manufacturer (e.g. limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for copper piping) or the 6 FPS shown in the General Notes. At a minimum design flow rate of 25 GPM for a siphonic, flush-valve water closet, a 1" Type L copper pipe has a flow velocity of 9.7 FPS. Reference: Table 604.3, IPC 2012. 8. Appliances (e.g. soda dispensers, ice makers, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.13.1, IPC require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection (e.g. Section 608.16.1, IPC 2012 requires the use of an ASSE 1022 listed backflow preventer for beverage dispensers). Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2012. 9. Verify that separate indirect waste pipes are being for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.8, IPC 2012. 10. Clarify the proposed use of food service sink #21 in the kitchen. Food prep sinks shall be connected to a grease interceptor.
