Provide energy code compliance calculations for the addition to the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the additions to the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-values of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Fenestration components shall have NFRC-certified U-values and Solar Heat Gain Coefficients. Reference: Sections C101.4.3, C101.5, C103.2, and C303, International Energy Conservation Code 2012. 2. Verify that the thermostatic control for the rooftop unit provides for automatic start-up control and, if the control does not require manual changeover from the heating and cooling modes, restricts set point overlap. Reference: Section C403.2.4, IECC 2012. 3. Provide structural calculations and details to demonstrate that the installation of the new rooftop mechanical equipment will not adversely affect the structural integrity of the roof. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012. 4. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2012 (the hood hanging weight plus the weight of personnel working in or on the hood). Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012. 5. Show that the hood installation complies with Section 507.9, IMC 2012 with regard to a smooth, cleanable, non-absorbent, and non-combustible material installed between the hood and the wall, and extending 18" beyond the hood. 6. The mechanical plan shows a high velocity diffuser for the room air conditioning system in close proximity to the face of the Type I hood. Verify that the location and type of air outlet complies with the hood manufacturer's installation instructions and does not reduce the effectiveness of the exhaust system.
