11/23/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: Revise the energy code analysis for the building envelope, coordinating the building components used in the analysis with those shown on the drawing (e.g. the COMcheck envelope compliance certificate is based on 8" concrete block walls with wood furring and R-11 cavity insulation but the drawings call for wood stud walls with no insulation at this time). If the energy code compliance is meant to apply to the building after the tenant improvements, specify the insulation requirements that will have to be installed at that time to justify the energy efficiency of the building as shown in the COMcheck envelope compliance certificate. Reference: Section C303.1, IECC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.] 2. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: None of the fenestration components (doors and glazing) have NFRC product ratings. Provide NFRC fenestration product ratings for the U-factor and the SHGC values on COMcheck or use the appropriate default U-factor and SHGC values from Tables C303.1.3 (1), C303.1.3 (2) and C303.1.3.(3), IECC 2012. For site assembled commercial products, the NFRC component modeling approach program enables commercial window manufacturers to produce bid reports to prove energy performance prior to being awarded a job and provide finalized label certificates once the product has been installed. Reference: Section C303.1.3, IECC 2012.] 3. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: Economizers are not required for simple HVAC systems that are expected to operate less than 20 hours per week. If the energy code compliance is meant to apply to the mechanical systems after the tenant improvements, show how the proposed HVAC systems are likely to operate less than 20 hours per week. Reference: Section C403.3.1 (4), IECC 2012.] |

12/03/2015 | CLAYTON TREVILLYAN | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Date: 12-3-15 Activity: T15CM06270 2nd review Address: 7073 E Tanque Verde Rd Applicant: Metro TED Previous Comment: 1. Provide an attic ventilation calculation for sizing the ventilation of the tower attic space, 1203.2. Note: The portions of the roof framing that have ceiling finished attached to the bottom of the roof framing members will not need attic ventilation and a vent placed in one rafter bay will not serve adjoining bays unless there is an attic to share air space. This note is intended for the tower area only that has an attic. All vents intended to meet this requirement should be located in the tower area. Note: The minimum area of ventilation needed to comply with section 1203.2 would be calculated at a ratio of 1:150 unless there are vents located in the upper and lower portions of the attic as prescribed in that section. Previous Comment: 2. Specify the spacing of the anchor bolting consistent with the shear wall schedule found in the structural calculations. Note: Refer to page 17 of the structural calculations provided for this project for the anchor bolting requirements of each type of braced wall included in this project. These are the values that are inconsistent with Sheet S3.0. If you have any questions please contact: Clayton Trevillyan, CBO 520.837.4913 Clayton.Trevillyan@tucsonaz.gov |
