11/23/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | The oven, fryer, and griddle all require a minimum input pressure of 7" WG. It is physically impossible to provide gas to them with no pressure drop due to the distribution piping. Show how this issue will be resolved: increase pressure at the meter or select different appliances. [Initial comment: Southwest Gas, the local gas utility, provides natural gas at 7" WG, 2 PSIG, and 5 PSIG. Appliances needing gas service at 7" WG or greater (e.g. oven, fryer, griddle, etc.) will require a gas meter that delivers at least 2 PSIG gas into a regulator located after the meter set. Revise the gas riser diagram to show the load and the total developed pipe length from the meter (or regulator) to each load. Reference: Section 402.1, IFGC 2012.] |
11/23/2015 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope (e.g. COMcheck) were not included in the latest submittal. [Initial comment: Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.] 2. Verify that the U-values and the solar heat gain coefficients for the exterior fenestration noted on sheet A6.0 will be NFRC certified. [Initial comment: Provide NFRC fenestration product ratings for the U-factor and the SHGC values on COMcheck or use the appropriate default U-factor and SHGC values from Tables C303.1.3 (1), C303.1.3 (2) and C303.1.3.(3), IECC 2012. Reference: Section C303.1.3, IECC 2012.] 3. Clarify how the "Additional Efficiency Package Option" will be accomplished; the COMcheck Mechanical Compliance Certificate indicates the reduced lighting (C406.3, IECC 2012) will be used to meet this requirement but the COMcheck Interior Lighting Compliance Certificate on sheet E5 does not support this. [Initial comment: Show how the "Additional Efficiency Package Option" (C406, IECC 2012) is to be accomplished. Reference: Section C401.2, IECC 2012.] |

12/15/2015 | CLAYTON TREVILLYAN | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Date: 12/15/15 Activity: T15CM06163 2nd review Address: 1068 E. Tucson Marketplace Blvd. Applicant: Ming Chen Previous Comments: " Provide structural metal building sheets E1-E7 and F1-F3 as indicated on the sheet index. " Please consider renaming sheets with duplicate sheet titles (structural and electrical) Note: The pages indicated above have been removed from the sheet index but would still be required for a complete building plan. Please provide the structural pages for the wall and roof construction. Previous Comment: " Egress from the kitchen area may not pass through a storage room, 1014.2(4). Note: The area on the plan under question may be open to the sky as indicated in the response letter but it is designated as a storage room. Section 1014.2(4) states "Egress shall not pass through kitchens, storage rooms, closets or spaces used for similar purposes". This area may be similar to a court yard by nature of its construction but the use is clearly similar to a storage room and egress will be prohibited through such a space. New Comment: " The revised plan pages were not sealed by the registrant of record. All engineers and architects involved in the design of the structure are to seal the related sheets of plans, details and calculations in accordance with the rules of the State Board of Technical Registration If you have any questions please contact: Clayton Trevillyan, CBO 520.837.4913 Clayton.Trevillyan@tucsonaz.gov |
